Congrads to Adam and Shawn, on winning their first Conference titles, and gettin those nice new trophies for their clubhouses. Nice work guys!! Mont vs Det - Detroit in 7 Should be an interesting series, these two will make changes to their lines and or slider, if need be, and won't sit on the same lines or tactics for long, if they aren't effective, that's why they're here. Good Luck to you both.

Congrats to both guys for making it this far.
I will throw my support behind my fellow eastern conference GM but think he will be in tough against a really good Detroit team.

Detriot in 6
The Wings are pretty far ahead of everyone else this season. I think next season the gap will narrow.

Great job Adam, coming from last place a year before to winning it this year! Especially beating out Montreal who had an insane team put together as well.

Congrats Adam, nice line changes ;-) Thanks for the kind words you guys, I really appreciate it! A quick note about line changes..... If you guys think that line changes and roster adjustments don't mean much, look at it like this.....the entire game is based on numbers and nothing else. Take away all the players names and that's what you're left with, tons of numbers. The entire concept of the simulator is all based on math with those numbers, plugged in to formulas that the program designer created. It's almost like an analogy with the Matrix....you know the rules, you can't ever break them, but you can learn to "bend" them to the best of your ability. I had my own copy of FHL for years and played around with it A LOT! I created my own league (based on ours) and would try countless different line combos and coach ratings and just run test sim after test sim to try and analyze the results to see what worked best with the players I had. Shuffling lines and players is almost like trying to find an easier way to find a solution to a problem. Just like in mathematics you can do long division if you'd like, or apply shortcuts to get the same results in a shorter amount of time. Your players and all their numbers plugged into the "system" is basically the same exact thing. And since the creator of STHS was a coder for FHL, many of the same principles apply. It's not so much what other team you're playing, but more if you can "solve the problem" faster than the other team by putting your numbers in a more efficient order to get the best results. It seems a lot of GMs will try and create line match ups and/or player match ups, which is pretty much useless. Your first line will ALWAYS play the most, 2nd line, then 3rd line etc...so when teams (and most do) try and create a 3rd line that is DF oriented, really what is the purpose? In the NHL teams will try and match their 3rd line against the other teams top line, but we can't do that here, yet GMs still have that NHL line of thinking. Since the 1st line always plays the most, wouldn't it then make more sense to have your 3rd line as your 1st line so they get as much ice-time as the other teams first, if you're really looking for some sort of "shutdown"? Every single little number is applied for some reason or another, and to dismiss that making changes (small or big) doesn't have much importance or little at best is just plain crazy. Unlike FHL, STHS does not have streaks/slumps. So while there is of course some level of randomness in the game, it also means that the code of how the players perform and what determines how the results are calculated never changes nor is affected by huge variables. I strongly suggest reading through the simulator message board. While the creator does not blatantly give any information away he is very candid when answering specific questions. So to think that rearranging your numbers to best fit with the programs formulas will NOT have an immediate effect (good or bad) is honestly quite foolish! It's just up to you to figure how your numbers can solve the equation fastest by putting those numbers in the most efficient order.
