Just to further my point on if you vote no you have to justify it. Who voted no on the Philly/NJ trade?
I can't figure out why someone would be against it or who is getting too much (my guess is there is too much prospects maybe as that seems to be the big complaint in most of these).
I guess one vote is likely no big deal in this case but still odd/frustrating to see a no vote on what should be a straight forward deal to pass.

Holy shingles that's a huge deal! Great buy low deal for Gavin, big time cap relief for Chris.

Yeah I figured this has a chance at a good later payoff, worth the money for sure.

Admit to being on the short end of deal with Gavin, but no one else seemed willing to take on the risk of the a high liklihood of being rewarded by Rinne & Brown in a yr's time. I gained some much needed cap breathing room and solidified some parts of my roster.

Am I missing something with respect to Kopitar deal?

Am I missing something with respect to Kopitar deal? I think it's great value for Nashville. Nichushkin might pot 25-30 goals as soon as next year, plus the other 2 blue chip pieces.

Goes to show we all have different opinions - I thought Joe/Canucks smoked this one. Of course, James/Preds knows what he's doing though and has the track record to back it up.

I'm really high on Nichushkin, Joe definitely knows after several attempts at him with offers. On that Dallas top 6, sky's the limit. Coming into camp at 6'4 220-230 pounds, watch out for this guy.

A couple pretty big trades today, IMO a couple of clear wins for Al and Joe (on the ovechkin deal).
Thiught Toronto could have gotten more (though i love tofoli and murray), and wow, what a cheap price for Al to pay to upgrade his forward corps!

Agreed, but both Ovy and Lupul were clearly put on the block. Must've been best offers on the table for the respective GMs.

Ovi has been on the block for quite a while, and really only 2 teams have engaged in serious negotiations. I was keen on moving him before FA to give myself more flexibility.
I agree that it's a good deal for Joe. The other deal I was contemplating would give me great ratings back, but also a lot of salary and less years under contract. I'm happy adding Toffoli and Murray to the youth movement in Toronto, and hopefully having them be franchise cornerstones for the next 10 years. Also, the 6.5M this trade frees up is as valuable to me as another piece in the deal.

Didn't think it was that bad of a deal for Eug. Ovechkin makes 9 million and clears a lot of cap space right before free agency. There was probably room for more, but i still would pass it (can't vote until I get back home later today! At the Buchart gardens)

Would never do that deal if I didn't think Toffoli and Murray have 30 goal/top 2 D upside. Possibly as soon as next season. The extra 1st gives me 3 picks in a row, which is cool. But obviously Joe gets the only guy in the deal who can score 50 goals on a regular basis. Congrats Joe, hope he can carry you to the promise land.

Very uneven trade up right now, not sure what Nashville is thinking. Frolov is a highly touted forward, some would say a young Federov. Put up nearly ppg in the KHL just 2 years ago. Tambellini is another promising player with the right blood lines, lighting up the SHL with 13 goals last season. Jessiman should still round out as a top 9 power two way winger, but there's not enough value going back to the Preds IMO. Reject

I don't think we can let trades like this, that are obviously going to affect the competitive balance of the league, pass without a lot of thought and consideration. I also think we should adopt a rule banning drunken games of golf between GMs. This deal is just an example of what can happen.
