Is anyone interested in trying a Franchise Hockey Manager league? It's a software product produced by the same company that makes the Out of the Park baseball simulator. I've owned it from the start, even contributed in a small way as a tester in the early days. They are now at version 8 and they have consistently produced a new version every season and made improvements along the way. I have been in a few leagues but I've never run a league as commissioner. It's quite different than STHS but it's fun. There's also an annual cost to purchase the game of about $35-40 per person (you have to own the game to participate). I could look into what it would take to start-up and run a league if enough JGHL guys were interested. I’d be interested ! Ditto! (might depend on how many current JGHL lads we get, the amount of upfront time for GMs to get it going, and the timing of when we start, but definitely interested in hearing more)

I would be in as well.
Just putting it out there though, I would also be down to do a fantasy league, and put that money into a prize pot rather than a program.
I have been in other fantasy leagues with Dynasty type rules that are somewhere between a regular fantasy league and what we do.
An example:
Roto leauge (not head to head) Very large number of keepers (a full starting line up minus any flex positions) A given number of”prospect” players (with an age limit we can set) that sit on your bench (and are kept) until they age out, you activate them (and drop a roster player) or until you drop and replace them (only via draft, not via waivers)
Just an example, but putting it out there. I would Be down to keep the competition going regardless

Hey guys, Sad to see that Mike cannot do it. But with that said, I have reached out to Jon, to discuss what it takes to run the league. Since I work from home, and on shift (4 on/ 4 off), I would not mind giving it a try and seeing if we can get this amazing league running. Once I hear from Jon, I will keep you posted. Hey Guys, Here is a little update. I have been talking with Jon, and I am now trying to figure out the HTML part. I haven't used or touched it in several years, so it might take me a few days to get the hang of it again. Once that is done, I will move on to the next step. I also so the post from Hunter, and I have reached out to him; maybe the two of us can figure this thing out faster and get the ball running. Will keep y'all posted

Is there a way that this can be done on a 'by committee basis' so that it's not a huge burden on one person?

I’m happy to help with any message board stuff to get ready for FA / entry draft if we are just continuing on, or with full on league restart (whichever is decided). I am just don’t have the technical skills for the other things…

I would certainly be interested in this although not sure I fully understand everything as my tech skills are falling way behind as I become an old man that I used to mock my parents for being!

As mentioned above I don't feel I have the tech skills to take over but if there is some less tech-y things that need to be done I am willing to help out any way possible with those things.

The only reason I suggested Franchise Hockey manager is that it takes some of the need for technical skills out of the equation. It also removes things like ratings, playoff set-up and web sites updates from the workload as they are all handled in-game. As I said previously, I've never run an FHM league but I think I could figure it out if there was enough interest. But I don't want to step on Al's toes either if he wants to try and continue with the current simulator and set-up. Just think I would offer an alternative that might be more fun in the future, but does have an annual cost associated (you have to buy an updated version of the game every season for $30-$40).
Does seem to be an overwhelming interest anyway (although that might be more because a lot of guys haven't been on much since the last season ended), so I'll just step down and wait to see what Al can accomplish.
Thanks Joe
