am i the only one really excited for this years rerates? i mean i will tell you straight up that i cannot wait to see what some of the guys on my team will get.. with the new nhl in mind, im really curious how the rerate systems gonna work, and how guys that went from 20 points 2 years ago to 60 points this year are gonna get rerated.. ill give you a perfect example, ales kotalik, the guy barely got ice time 2 years ago and finishes with something like 30 points.. doubled his points total this year, finishes with 62 points, and 30 goals. now on any other day 2 years ago, that would get you at least a 78 rating.. but with these times, im not so sure. what does everybody else think?

I agree, it should be interesting. My team should have some interesting rerates (hopefully) I am curious about guys like Hemsky, Emery, Connolly and Cammalleri. But that of course is just my team.
What about Staal? went from 31 points to 100 points shouldnt he go from a 74 OV to an 84-85 OV based on what Martin St. Louis did the season before?

I think they'll use different formulas this year to keep the rerates under control... I expect Staal at 83 OV and Thornton at 85 OV. If they base it on last years formulas Thorntons PA would be like 99 and OV at 87-88. I'm really curious to see Martin Brodeurs ratings... will his past records keep him at 87 OV? He was good this year, but there were better goalies out there. Phaneuf is also going to be an interesting one... based on the last few years of ratings he could be 80+ OV. I expect him at 79 OV. Anyways watch out for the Kariya-Thornton-Selanne combo in season 4 and after that Staal will make my 2nd line good too.

so should i expect ovechkin to be rated as the 4th best forward in the leauge? also ive got some even more important rerates, like rob blake, how low will he go? will val bure be granted a hall pass cause hes still in the nhl but didnt get to play due to injury? aucoin i dont even want to talk about.... nittmaki... thats one id like input on, i see him as a 78 or 79 no higherand no lopwer

The Flames can't wait either!
Lehtonen to give me a decent backup...
Then there's: Brad Boyes, Afinogenov, Jeff Carter, Frolov & Zherdev may improve slightly, plus Pitkanen, Beauchemin, Upshall, Kuba, Tverdovsky - oh yeah, a guy by the name of Meszaros!
I can handle that....

ok first off, i just wanna say that i took a look at chicagos roster, and i almost fell off my chair.
with that said, even though i do not have 14 40 goal scorers on my team, let alone 1, ill say this, every forward on my team with the exception of mogo and steve y (but im not even counting them cause theyre not a part of my future) should improve in ratings. briere, richards, lupul, smyth, elias (stays same), malone, williams, bergeron, begin, michalek, kotalik, m.richards.. CMON!
i think its safe to say that my team lacks in scoring, but i think theyre gonna make up for it in speed, vision, leadership, and lots of intangibles

it seems July 1st is the set date.. you can check for info on the fhlsim.com forums. ive checked some preliminary ratings done with the old system i assume, and theyre absolutely ridiculous, but i dont think it was done with the DVHL system so im not trusting them at all.

www.acchleague.com/ACCHPlayers0607.htmli wouldnt exactly call them preliminary, or any preview of whats to come.. but these are the only ratings i found on the forum based on the 05-06 season.. check em out for fun, thats what i did, but dont expect the upcoming rerates to look anything like this...

haha that was entertaining... 99 PA Hemsky, 99 SC Ovechkin, and my favorite... 99 DF for Andy Sutton!
Those are ridiculous... even the old system wouldn't make ratings that high.

The Rating System should be adjusted for the now played "pussy" hockey that has been played unlike the old days of physical, hitting style.
Now we have to take in account the figure skaters that now play in league. Too many penalites called for bullshit hits.
LOL - although the game last night was different - Ottawa/TB had it all. But not the norm!
