Good call on the thread. I see now why the "Match" is dumb, looking at the mike richards bid. Somone else could easily come in and bid more, making calgary's match irrelevant. In my case I was lucky because no one can bid more than 10 mil.

No doubt both of those guys were going to get max bids.....When you have so many stars like Monty, sound money decissions needed to be made on who should get max match

You can bet when franchise players are involved you better have that bankroll in the right order before FA, if there yours.

Not really like it was even a question for me. Both players were worth much more than the compensation, and I still have enough cash to fill out my roster with semi-scrubs, not to mention i intend on making a deal or two

Perhaps I missed something in the rules but how (or why) does someone put a bid in on a player that is the exact same bid, especially when the bid is already the max the player can get?

Technically I could have just made the same exact bid as you did on Alfredsson instead of raising it like I did. Or even better you could have done nothing and let me have him!! ;D
