Of all the deals that went down and the big names that were moved, the biggest surprise to me was actually the Islanders not grabbing a puck moving defenseman. Crosby is playing amazing and making those around him so much better I really thought they could have made some noise in the playoffs. The 8mil spent on Drury would have been much better served on someone like a Kaberle and possibly another 3/4 guy. No offense Phil, I was rooting for ya

Kaberles 60 DF really reduces his usefulness.
Calgary cleaned up this deadline. I thought LA was better off moving that pick for Sedin than Karlsson.

Couldn't login all day so safe to say I was amazed to see all the trades that went down. Gotta agree with Darren that a possible 1st overall pick and another decent prospect for Karlsson is a bit much but hey, who knows right? Nice deal Ron, Richards and Carlson are top tier players.
Sets up for a classic playoffs, one that could be the most competitive we've ever had!! The overwhelming favorites may be in the west but I think mine and rons teams match up pretty well, and some would say better with the superior goaltending. Its literally anyone's game.

Damn, tons of trades today, other than the blockbuster of Darren picking up Rob Niedermayer, thought Calgary did a hell of a job today. But I did outsmart him with Alfredsson when I got..um....can't remember who I picked up from that one.

My 20 Pesos, but I think the JGHL Trade Deadline kicked the NHL trade deadline's ass!!! Our league deadline day definitely kicked ass over the NHL! There were a lot of huge trades and a lot of big-time names got moved around! It was fun jumping on and seeing what would pop up next. I'm actually glad I got all of my trading out of the way early. It was nice to not have to rush and scramble and go back and forth at the wire. Overall, with the acquisition of Bryzgalov earlier and the forwards added today, I think New Jersey made the biggest overall impact. That's not to say that additions like Thornton, Ovechkin and Iginla aren't significant! Should be fun to watch how it plays out, my pick is still San Jose.....
