Wonder if you guys have given any thought to raising the cap, something we have not done for several years, I noticed that with the system we have had in place a few years, salary based on OV for RFA's is gettin out of hand, and catching up to us. JMO, as I look around the league.

So what you're saying is...the cap is doing exactly what its suppose to be doing.
There are 13 teams with almost 20m or more in available salary. I see no reason to raise to the cap.
Better money management is required, you can't have an all-star team every year, eventually, just like in the real NHL, it will catch up with you, and painful decisions will have to be made.

I totally disagree, even the NHL raised their cap. One can't really predict ratings that drive up salaries. I suggest you look at the fiance page, it's the worst I've ever seen. The NHL raised their cap because they are using real money, we use fake money and a strictly formatted system of raises and pay cuts. I have looked at the fiance page, again, there are 13 teams with 20m or more to spend in salary. Here are the top 10 teams listed by highest available salary to spend in FA. Detroit: $28,890,000 Calgary: $28,725,200 Washington: $27,275,000 Montreal: $27,190,000 Tampa Bay: $26,265,000 St. Louis: $25,260,500 Nashville: $23,500,000 NY Rangers: $23,155,435 Edmonton: $21,957,100 Buffalo: $20,608,500 There are only 2 teams right at or over the cap: New Jersey and Vancouver. With the top 10 teams in available salary have a combined total of 252,826,735 in available salary...I think the cap is fine where it is.

LOL don't forget that when we start signing RFA'S those monies will decrease, wow 10 teams out of 26 don't have cap problems. Anyway it was jmo, you guys are the boss.

No, only 2 teams out of 26 DO have salary problems, and one of them I happen to know already has resolved at least part of that salary problem.
Honestly, if the majority of teams were right at the cap as it stands, we'd look over things and probably raise it, but there is MORE than enough money to go around.
If you're having cap problems on your team, you have some trades to make.

I would be pissed if the cap went up. It would mean there was no reason for me to be careful with signings over the last 3 years. Be responsible in fa guys!

Yeah the cap is fine where it is. Everything we put in place to control salaries is finally coming around and working perfectly.

I agree with Shawn..... everyone is supposed to watch how they spend... and for those who carefully manage their money... would be pissed if those that dont get let off the hook by an increase for no apparent reason. The cap is great where it is.
