After msg board posts, several e-mails in the last few days, a message on facebook and now a phone text, if Buffalo doesn't pick by 6pm then he is skipped. If you can't make it a point to be here or send a list for only the 6th pick then you deserve to be skipped.

Someone who knows Jas wanna shoot him a text or something? He doesn't even know he got a 30 minute extension. We can't miss these picks because of careless gm's, I'm cool for staff to make these picks so these teams don't suffer, if you do it for one we have to do it for all. But only the 1st rd. JMO

I kind of take it as an insult and a slap in the face that you can't make it a point to sign on for 20 seconds and make a pick. Pisses me off a little bit If people can't show up then I don't see why Gavin and I should have to sit here all day waiting for picks to do updates. Maybe next year we'll just make it all lists

Remember the time when everyone jumped the gun and got all over Buffalo and then he made his pick on time? That was funny. Oh, good times.

Maybe next year we'll just make it all lists I totally agree with you and I believe that the 1st overall SHOULD have been skipped today because that is the rule!!!!!! Well, there is a very good reason we didn't skip this pick. If for some reason, the GM for NYI needs to be replaced, we don't want that team to suffer from neglect and then be harder to find new ownership because of that. I'm already mulling new drafting rules around in my head for next year. The first one I'm thinking of is: If you miss your draft time, and your pick would be "skipped" within the 1st round, a player from the 1st round will be automatically selected that the Commish and Co-Commish deem appropriate for that team. So, instead of losing a 1st round player, they simply lose "choice" of player, and I can tell you right now, it won't always be the player picked highest in the NHL. The point is to not make the "team" suffer for a GMs mistakes SO massively that it ends up hurting the ability to re-sell the team should it need to happen. Missing picks from the 2nd round and lower will be skipped as normal, but 1st round picks will be special in the way described above.

Gavin on his way home from work- he'll land around 6:30 Does he fly his helicopter to work or is it a jet plane...either way he sounds very fancy to me..... Speaking of drafts...are we doing the second annual JGHL fantasy league this year. I thought it worked out well last season.

So are we done for the day or are we able to keep the draft moving if guys are ready to pick? If guys want to continue picking then they are more than welcome. But since I'm sure most didn't anticipate picking today you'll probably get jammed up pretty quick.

Mark Scheifele is no Jeff Skinner Apparently people here didn't think Jeff Skinner was much of a Jeff Skinner, otherwise he wouldn't have fell to 11th

Mark Scheifele is no Jeff Skinner Plus Scheifele was slightly off the board when the Jets selected him. Not that surprising he fell here. If I wasn't at work, I likely wouldn't have sent list & likely would've selected someone different. But...glad to have him nonetheless.
