I voted for Detroit too, with Toronto a close 2nd and St. Louis the big wild card. Pretty surprised Calgary has zero votes Shhh....hoped to go through unmentioned! Enjoy playing the underdog, although with the rosters assembled by Beasts of the East & West can't say I'm too surprised! Love. This. League! Plus our trade deadline (days leading up to included) kicked the NHL's a$$!

Okay, I voted for Detroit, but I couldn't resist running the numbers (just because). These aren't totally accurate because I didn't weight them for playing time and I only did three teams (Toronto, Detroit and St. Louis), but here they are:
TOR: CK 74.2/FG 61.4/DI 75.4/SK 74.5/ST 80.9/DU 89.1/PH 76.7/PA 73.2/SC 67.9/DF 72.9 DET: CK 73.6/FG 60.3/DI 73.9/SK 74.3/ST 79.8/DU 83.8/PH 77.1/PA 73.7/SC 70.1/DF 72.7 STL: CK 72.5/FG 61.7/DI 70.7/SK 74.9/ST 78.1/DU 87.8/PH 77.7/PA 71.2/SC 69.7/DF 73.8
I'm a little surprised that Toronto is last in SC. Detroit is first in SC and PA, which might be the difference at the end of the day. We have the best DF, but also by far the worst DI, so our penalty killing is going to be key. We're also quite far behind in PA, which is something I've tried to address (Jon brought it up at the beginning of the season).
Of course this doesn't factor in the goaltending where Toronto has an advantage.
Looking forward to the playoffs...should be fun!
Detroit over Toronto in seven...

Nice to see me get two votes, even is one is because I have a couple of former Hawks moreso than a top team.
Maybe it is because this is the first year where I really think I have a shot but it seems like the top is very, very good. Not sure if it is like this every year and I haven't noticed but there will be a great team not winning this year.
I really like my team but then look at TO, St. Louis, Detroit and NJ and realize I don't have much of a shot.

Gary, you gotta remember tho that some roster players that are barely used skew the average. I think a better analysis would be to take the scoring average of the top 9 forwards: mine is 75.56; blues is 74.11; wings is 71.78. As you can see, those numbers tell a different story

Look at me 2 years ago or TOR last year. There are almost always at least 3 teams that really go for it, and 2 lose!

If I had more time I'd calculate the numbers based on how many minutes each forward and d-man plays. Still, I think it shows the teams are pretty close. TB, NJ and CGY are all there too.

Should be a fun playoffs for all the competitors. Here's to us having our first playoff upset Although we haven't had any big upsets, like the 8th seed beatin the 1st seed, we have had a few lose, with home field, as a matter of fact, you were upset by Calg. in the 06-07 season.

Should be a fun playoffs for all the competitors. Here's to us having our first playoff upset Hey I finished on top of 05-06 and was 11 pts ahead of 3rd place Washington and I loss to Washington in Eastern Finals, so it can be done by a third especially if 3rd ends up only few points of leader but sits in 3rd because of winner in other division.....we will see!
