Lets get some talk about the upcoming season going to get our minds off of this RFA thing.
Who's going to suprise?
Is Calgary's on ice performance finally going to equal how they look on paper (I think I predicted they would be second last year)?
Will SJ's disipline hurt the team as badly as it has in the past?
How will Draper/Marchant do in the 2nd line role in Chicago?
Will New Jersey still be a top Eastern team despite dealing away St. Louis, Niedermayer and Schnieder?
How will the top loaded teams (tons of offense, little defense) do?
Philly- early favorite to take east?
Also, who will win the... Art Ross Norris Richard Hart Vezina Selke East/West Cup

Nashville
Yes! Easily the best D in the league, 3 full lines, and an amazing goalie.
Yes, too many ice-time players with low DI, it will hurt.
He could definitely use a better 2nd line center, both those guys are more 3rds.
At one time I would have said yes, trading away one of those Dmen maybe, trading away both, HUGE mistake!
With some of the crazy ratings that forwards have this year, I think without any D to combat, you're in trouble!
Not with that 3rd line. My pick is Montreal eventhough the D is a little soft.
Also, who will win the... Art Ross - Ovechkin Norris - Schneider Richard - Ovechkin Hart - Kiprusoff Vezina - Kiprusoff Selke - No clue East - Montreal West - Calgary Cup - Calgary

It only took 3yrs. Sharky but just maybe close at last. lol Just a little work to do on my 3rd line. Both Conferences will be strong this season and goal scoring will be on the rise, that's for sure.

Have to agree... Calgary's the team I'm most afraid of in the West. He can pretty much ice 3 lines that could all be top lines on other teams... I actually think my top 4 on defense can equal his, but he has a huge advantage when it comes to the 5,6, and 7 defensemen plus his goalie is much better.
I don't think Philly's third line will have a huge impact on the season. Plus he may be able to fix that in the unassigned draft. Montreal's defense IMO is a bigger weakness... only 1 true top four dman.
I still think NJ will be a top team. He's got the best goaltender in the East and a solid, albeit unspectacular defense. He can also ice 4 good lines. IMO he'll be battling for the top spot again.
Toronto also had a good chance. His defense is solid and has an amazing offense.
Lots of trouble in net around the league... DiPietro may actually not be as big of a weakness as I thought.
Art Ross - Jagr... plenty of guys to feed him the puck Norris - S.Niedermayer... great defense partner and is on a strong team Richard - Ovechkin Hart - Jagr Vezina - Kiprusoff Selke - Brind'Amour (i think its his to lose)

Look for the Wild to surprise. Reality though this teams depth sucks so much in all areas and I have to fix that up.
Looking at the rosters some solid teams out there.
Toronto looks to have a solid team and are strong up the middle and in net. Defense could cause some concerns though.
Washington could be a threat, any team with Brodeur is scary. Need secondary offense though as Zetterberg and Jokinen may not be enough.
Calgary is my favorite team, that defense is ridiculous with Kipper and Lehtonen in net. WOW
Edmonton is pretty deep too.
Those are who I think the best teams are at first glance and could do the most damage come playoff time

thanx for the lofty predictions guys - hopefully not curses!!!
The Flames organization has took the long road to develop a team that would be competetive in 3yrs after commencement of the league (last yr was a disappointment), but the 4th yr should undoubtedly be the Flames true breakout yr...
I'm hoping to do a post after offseason manuevers are completed analysing my team & offseason moves, drafting, etc...hopefully all or most GMs can do the same with their respective teams...
Cheers

Thats my favorite part of FHL leagues. I like writing articles about my team and teams around the league. Its fun, testing my hockey knowledge out against others and creating story's for the league.

Calgary's team is kinda crazy, lol. Who said you couldn't build young in this league?? I'd go as far as to pick them for the Cup, I'll probably come up short yet again.

I am just going to sit back and watch all the teams ruin there cap space. It will be fun,

Edmonton is pretty deep too. lol Maybe at centre and in a few years in net. My left wing is still pretty weak. You do not give yourself enough credit. You have a very deep team. Alexei Ponikarovsky - Shawn Horcoff - Glen Murray Derek Roy - Jarret Stoll - Colby Armstrong Rob Niedermayer - Mike York - J.P. Dumont Alexander Semin - Mike Ribeiro - Tuomo Ruutu/Patrick Sharp Extras: McClement, Stewart, Chouinard, Tambellini, Olesz Mara - Klesa Michalek - ? ? - Zyuzin Extra: Coburn, Burns, Babchuk (Need to fill a few holes on defense for this season) Ryan Miller Toskala You have some solid prospects like Yandle,Schremp,Kaigs,Lisin,Voloshenko,Begfors and Sekera What's not to like about your team? you can roll four lines after position changes, you have two unbelievable goalies an awesome tandem so that wont be a concern. Need maybe another offensive defenseman and two stay at home guys for PK and your team is scarey dangerous. The depth is awesome.
