First let me say thank you to all for my player nominations, as well as myself for Jack Adams! But I felt there were two oversights that jumped out at me:
1. Spezza for Hart - Led the Presidents' Trophy winning team in points (12th overall), 1st in the league GWG, 1st in the league face off %, 3rd in the league Pts/20min, T-4th in the league PP goals, T-5th in the league goals, 7th in the league shooting %
2. Pat Blais (Wpg) for Jack Adams - All the nominees (myself included) for the most part pretty much just built on what we already had. Winnipeg went from 4th worst record (24-50-8) to 42-32-8, 15th overall and the 7 seed. Also improved a -73 goal differential to +4. Made some really nice moves to improve substantially.

I agree there where some GM snubs, but Pat wasn't one of them. He made only 2 trades since joining the league in November, the former Jets GM, that was forced to quit after he lost his job due to the lock-out, built that team. Was nice to see a few new names nominated, but not as many as should have been imo..

I was disappointed Girardi did not get nominated for the Hart. He was a beast this year. Nearly led Carolina in points, led all defensemen in points, was one of Carolina's only + players... and he was +12, blocked a ridiculous number of shots, and played the 2nd most minutes in the league this year.
And I thought Perron deserved the Rob Brown award over most of those guys... Perron tied for 5th in scoring and has a 73 PA and 76 SC!

Agreed about Girardi Jake, what he did was definitely Hart worthy. I think with more in depth research people would vote for someone outside the top 4 in league scoring, but it's usually the first place people look. Speaking of, as huge as Sharp was for me this year I fully expected Malkin to get the nomination over him for Hart, so that would be my pick for snub.

In response to certain players not getting noms, they actually did but just not enough. I deleted the exact tallies for every nominated player, but I can tell you that Malkin, Girardi and Spezza all got several Hart nominations. Perron did get some noms for Rob Brown award, Mike Smith missed Vezina by 1 nom, and there was a 3-way tie for GM of the year which is why there are 5 candidates.

The fact TB isn't making a clean sweep of these awards is a travesty.
Outside of that always nice to see GM such a tough award to vote for. You have the standards that have done great with their teams year after year, the guys that have made a good jump and others that have done a great job with what they have and you see that if it were a two year award they might deserve for this year and what they are likely to do next.
