Stave off elimination for at least a couple of days... needed my best player to show up, and Stamkos rose to the challenge with 2 goals and 2 assists.... another 7 PP opportunities for Nashville though, the refs have given them twice as many PPs as my team... Polak had three minor penalties

3 more PP goals against, an exhausted Brodeur, and our highest DF rated defenseman out for the next game. You can pretty much close the book on this one I hope you're right Adam, because I feel like game 6 is do or die for me as well.

The Kopitar line worked out but my other changes looked like they back fired on me. Going to be a tough game 6, don't want to lose that and try win one on the road for game 7.

Great series Adam, I was really worried about today, if game 7 happened without Philips and with you having Klesla back, I felt I was done for...had to close this out in 6. Now I just hope Sharky takes his series to 7, need as many rest days as I can get right now

Really surprises Detroit didn't end up taking it to 7 games... This new sim is full of surprises... Nervous about tomorrow.

Well that sucks! Ya gotta love when your last minute offensive line comes out and 4 of the 5 guys are not who you have designated I really see our PK as the difference in the series (Chi was 1/3 on PPs), as I honestly feel we have the better team. A tired Brodeur didn't really help much today either. Oh well, good luck the rest of the way everyone! Congrats Gavin!

As near as I can tell, Adam, your guys that are on your last minute offensive line were out there at the 18 minute mark and played til they got tired and were replaced by your extra forwards, as the last minute O.

Not the greatest run for last year's finalists. Congrats Gavin, well deserved. Your team has been very strong since the mid way point.

Down the wire! I'm nervous to see who my opponent is going to be, I feel like I have a much better shot against one than the other.

Grats to James! I was really hoping Jake would pull out the series to be honest, I feel my team is heavily outclassed by that powerhouse roster of Nashville. I feel like my roster can't compete with Nashville's at all, I look at his roster on paper and I don't see how I can possibly stack up. All 6 of his defenseman are better than my top 4. He has more 80+ PA (a large reason I feel him and I got this far) and he has a better average for SC ratings as well....PLUS he's one of the few teams that can beat me in the faceoff circle as well. On paper, he should win this series in 5, maybe 6 if I'm lucky. The season series went 1-1-1 (with Nash taking the OT game), which doesn't bode well either. Really I'm just happy to make it to the Finals this year and be the only "Western" team to ever get a Wales trophy Good luck James and may the better team win

Really disappointed in the outcome, but not surprised. I knew it was unlikely I could win 3 games in a row against Nashville. The turning point in the series was game 4... should have adjusted my PK before that game. If I had, perhaps I'd still be in it right now.
My teams downfall this year was special teams. Terrible PP all year long, despite trying every possible combination and strategy... the PK was terrible in this series against Nashville. At even strength, I think my team was the best in the league, but that can only take you so far.
Terrible production by Mike Ryder didn't help either. I probably would have been better off keeping Zubrus on my third line, and not even trading for Ryder. He was useless.
Great series James... good luck against Chicago. I'll be cheering for you as I'd feel better knowing I lost to the eventual cup champs!
Next year will be a transition year for my club. I still expect my team to compete for the conference, but a few key players will likely be moved... namely Art Ross winner Martin St. Louis and Zdeno Chara.

Woot I got the winners right!
Congrats to James and Gavin for getting this far. It's nice to see that after it looked like the Flames were going to win it every year after 09, we're gonna have the 4th different winner in a row (all first time winners). Speaks to the parity and competitiveness we've had over the last 4 years.
