It would be interesting to see on the silent bid pick ups, what the 2nd highest bid was. NO need to show the team, just the bid. I personally would like to see how much I overpaid for these guys.

wow... 3.1 for Cumiskey? i understand that thats what it takes to grab guys these days but this almost eliminates them as trade bargaining chips until they do something at the NHL level, and even then will they be worth that much?

It costs me 310k to keep him on the farm. If he develops into what we hope then great, if not then he'll stay on the farm until I decide I need to get rid of him, no big deal really. And Monty, c'mon now, you of all people have certainly overpaid for a player

If you want a player bad enough, and he has a promising future, then you almost have to overpay, to land him. And as Detroit said, if he pans out, an overpaid player for now, can end up a bargain later, in the mean time the farm is a wonderful thing, indeed. Hard to gauge a silent bid. Backstrom 7mil? Roll the dice. He could have got him for 5.6- I was his closest challenger at 5.5, so if you want bad enough you will go as high as you think you should. I think I overpaid for Roche, at 2.5., O'Brien at 2.5 a steal, Zyuzin at 700,000 a steal. JM 2-CENTS.

Then next time tell me all I have to bid is 5.6! It's going to be awesome having a guy who is on Ovechkins line and also plays goal for the Wild. Very versatile.

My mistake, you are 100% correct. I had you confused with another GM for the moment. You were the one who intentionally tanked the season to grab Ovechkin. Sorry about the confusion.
