The West should be a good battle again this year. Colorado, Anaheim, Nashville, San Jose, Calgary and Minnesota all have good teams. I'm picking Calgary to win the cup again. The Wild don't have the defense or goaltending to go all the way, but should still fight for a top 5 seed.

The west should be a battle with Calgary coming out on top but with Anaheim with solid team across the board should be right there battling Calgary for top spot. San Jose has team to compete with the top two teams but could be hurt if Selanne decides to stay home. Nashville ( especially if Neidermeyer shows up), Colorado and Minny will battle for middle seeds.
The east looks like it is a Toronto year, then a bunch of teams battling for the rest of the spots with really no other team looking like it will give Toronto a run. Pitt has improved and should move up in playoff seeds this season, while NJ and Philly will compete well, but should battle for middle seeds due to veteran play. Isles with Crosby and solid d and goaltending can be in playoff run and then is the Rangers who make it every year and always give every team a run no matter who it is and will be there in middle of pack....

Although I don't expect to have the kinda years I've had the last 3 seasons, Chicago should still make the playoffs this year and be decent competition for anyone we face.

Since were moving into the last 3rd of the season, and points are big now for playoff births and seeding [homefield means edge in playoffs imo], I thought maybe it was time to make some picks for fun. Don't be shy guys, show some balls LOL ;D All things considered this is the way I see the finish. East: 1- NJ [1st Seed] 2- Tor 3- NYI 4- Philly[2nd Seed] 5- Car 6- Mont 7- Pitts 8- Boston or Rangers Tough call here. West: 1- Calg.[1st Seed] 2- Ana. [2nd Seed] 3- SJ 4- Minn 5- Colo 6- Nash 7- Chi 8- Pho- Colu- Dal Again tough call here.

East:
NJ Leafs NYI Canes- I'm betting on the Canes' goaltending to beat out Philly Philly Montreal Pens Washington- Boston has been slipping ever since a hot start
West:
Calgary San Jose Anahiem Colorado Minny Nashville Chicago Phoenix- close, but Phoenix's depth should beat out Columbus

We are having one fine season and getting hot at just the right time. Have a shot at finishing 3rd in the West and just eight points out of 2nd. At the trade deadline 7th best PP21st best PK (terrible my only weakness) Good thing only take 3 penalties per game. 2nd best GF/G just 0.04 out of first 6th best GA/G (Could finish 2nd by seasons end) 2nd in SF/G 0.08 shots out of first. 1st in SA/GOnly have 21 losses this season which places me 4th least in losses this season could finish 2nd. The hype I have put behind my abilities as a GM when I came aboard to this Wild franchise I have certainly backed up with my teams play. With 16 games to go I have already tied the Wilds franchise record in wins and am only three points away from setting a new point record for this team. Only won 19 games last season while rebuilding, now it looks like I should win 40+ this season. Having an impressive playoff run will just be icing on the cake.
