I don't see what the big deal is but I wasn't trying to finish a deal late so maybe (hopefully not) I would feel different if that were the case.
I think the trade should go through and would/will be disappointed if it is vetoed by bitter GM's.

No matter it was submitted after 4 even if Gavin was here or not, the time the trade was submitted was 4:06...sucks but if this goes then others that were submitted late need to go like mine and Joe and Sharky.....just saying

Ray, i totally get that.. but we had already agreed to the deal, it was just a matter of us confirming to Gavin which took us a few minutes past the daedline because Darren went offline briefly It's been posted, so maybe the best way is to let the league decide.

I don't think bitterness has anything to do with it. As others have mentioned, if there was a leniency this year with submission time it should have been communicated for an even playing field. At around 3:55 I honestly stopped negotiating realizing there's not enough time. The extra 10 min would have made a difference.

I don't think because I believe that everyone should follow the same rules, that I should be referred to as a "bitter GM".

I think if the only reason you reject a trade is because it was 6 minutes after 4pm it is a pretty weak reason. It is a fun league and 6 minutes.
It isn't like Jon is changing the sim settings for one team or letting guys go over the salaray cap.

I got in my door at 2:00 my time on the nose, and went online right away. Responded and accepted right away. Checked my messages before I went out, responded to what was there, but was unavoidably unavailable for a few hours. This is a fun league, so I seriously hope six minutes isn't enough to piss people off.

It's starting to annoy me a little bit when every time some one raises as issue, people say, "Oh, relax, it's just a fun league". Does that mean it's not fun if we have to all follow the same rules and display the same level of commitment to the good of the league. If that's the case why bother having a trade deadline at all? Why bother having rules? It makes me wonder why I devote so many hours to this endeavour.
The point in this case is not that the two GMs involved aren't terrifc guys and good GMs. They are. I like them both and think they bring a lot to the league.
The point is most of the other teams in the league were under the assumption that all deals had to be submitted before 5:00pm and in several cases, in-progress negotiations were abandoned when time ran out. It was clearly stated that trades had to be "submitted" prior to the 4:00pm EDT deadline, not agreed to. After deadline deals should only be allowed if all teams in the league are advised that the deadline has been extended.
It looks like the deal is going to pass, and I think that would be a shame and bad precedent.

And allowing another late deal doesn't make it any better. Sorry, Ron.
