Jim (Boston) has just improved his team, big time. Looks like I'll be in a dog fight for the Conf.. Washington dogged me all season, now it's Boston's turn to dog me. LOL

It almost works out as kind of a Rental.
Huge move for Boston, should lower their GAA by a quarter with a single move!

LOL Agreed, it's a little more interesting now in the East. Like I said before, Nashville may be the favorite right now but with a few key moves he could have strong competition in the West and even East in the finals. Suter, Pavelski, Jagr, and Nielsen could definitely be the missing pieces for serious competitors, should I decide to sell.......

Just a note that I liked the most recent deal by the "New Guy" (Sabres) and by one of our newish GMs (Pens) [comparatively speaking as Mike's been around for a while now) - well played gentleman

Hey I think we really need to take another hard look at Trade Vote 2:
To Buffalo: Jordan Greenway 2017 4th Rd. Pick 2017 5th Rd. Pick 2018 2nd Rd. Pick
To San Jose: Jakob Silfverberg Brian Campbell
That's not a very even trade at all, Silfverberg is still a really good player, almost 50 points this season, young and cheap, thats pretty terrible return. Campbell is whatever here, loaner mid-range player.
With Buffalo being new and all...I think this needs a bit closer look.
Greenway is a okay prospect, but he's never played more than 35 game season, he's a LONG way from the NHL if he even makes it. Not worth Silfverberg even slightly. Greenway is 2-4 years from ratings, at best.

Yea, I had to pause when I saw it posted and look up Greenway cause had no idea who he was. It said he's got huge power forward upside but I've seen that written before about many many 'big' prospects and they often don't pan out. I passed it, but wasn't crazy about that deal. The picks aren't great either..

I think two 2nd round picks (one actual 2nd and I figure Greenway is worth a late 1st-2nd) for Silfverberg is fair. He's not a player I would have given up a mid 1st rounder for. Greenway is huge and at a PPG in the NCAA... give him some credit. Silfverberg's career high is currently 44 points (this season) so let's not go crazy here.

We dp we have a voting system if we get to review the voting afterwards? This trade passed!!! Agree or disagree on its fairness but enough members voted to pass it there should be no more discussion

Do I have to defend myself on this because I am more than happy to oblige.

And I don't think being a new manager has anything to do with it.

There is no reason to take anything personal here. Discussion on border line trades is healthy for the league, and not meant to be an insult. That's why we have voting and discussion threads. We've all been there.

So you think a late 2nd (in 2018!) and late 1st are worth a 25 year old star NHL forward with nearly 50 points in his 5th full NHL season? In what universe? PPG at the NCAA level is not all that uncommon at all Jake, we've seen hundreds of players like this over the years that don't pan out. This is trading a good player away for a dice roll for NO REASON. I have trouble understanding why you'd WANT to defend a trade where you are clearly getting the worse end of the deal. This deal sets your team back a couple years, since Silverberg is established and Greenway is at BEST 4 years away from ever being rated.

1. Calling Silfverberg a star is very optimistic, he hasn't had more than 40 points since his 4th season in the Swedish league. 2. A 2nd round pick is a second round pick, doesn't really matter what year it is. The value is essentially the same. 3. Greenway is more than a dice roll. Anyone who watched any NCAA games or the World Juniors knows that this kid is a monster and as a second round draft pick he was a steal. He has been ranked the third fastest rising prospect in mid season rankings. I have 100 percent faith that he will be more valuable than Silvferberg almost right away, especially in a league that isn't just based on goals and assists. 4. All my trades are setting my team back a few years, I am not going to be in the playoffs this year. 5. If trading a 40 point player (which I have plenty of) and a contract I'm losing for a fast rising prospect and 3 chances in the draft is considered a loss to a rebuilding team then I don't really know what could be considered a win.

Next year he could get 60 points, especially since Perry might be done, Silverberg will see more ice. Why would you move a 25 year old who has done nothing but improve? 2: So a 1st in 2017 is worth the exact same as a 1st Pick in 2022? No, its not worth as much because its further away from being impact to your roster. Prospect names are great and all, but RATED PLAYERS mean way way way more. 3: Yeah yeah yeah, I've heard this a million times before from a million busts. He's just another NCAA prospect thats 4 years away from the NHL at best, and he'll start on the 3rd line on whatever team he ends up playing for, these kids always do. Geenway is not the next Sidney Crosby, those players come into the league at 18 and dominate. 4: Which just increases the chance you leave and make us find another replacement for a team you made worse for no reason.... 5: Trading a good rated player for a bunch of junk that has no real value for half a decade is definitely a loss. Trade is terrible. Flat out.
