Wow! Cannot believe there have not been many trades. In past there were some trades going on during season but guessing as we get closer to trade deadline, there will be many!

JMO - I would like to see the Cap raised next season. That, IMO would help.

Yeah I'm the tightest you can be on cap right now, once it gets raised up I could probably do something. I also did all of my trading this off season. I might stand pat, but Eug will probably beef up making me do the same....damn him.

JMO - I would like to see the Cap raised next season. That, IMO would help. People would just spend up to the cap again and the problem repeats itself. I don't think waiting for the 5m deadline increase is a bad thing really, puts pressure on long term design which is a different skillset then fleecing GMs out of players Thats why we have it, to allow for trading because teams are always gonna ride the cap. Big contract signings will always lead to salary burdens regardless of what the salary cap is set to, its really on everyone to manage their money better to have more available for trading players.

Yeah im with Gavin on this one. People have spent lots on players (especially unassigned) and its clogged the cap system. But the fix is to learn from our contracts rather than just inflate the system. We lack discipline

For me it is a combination of not having much to trade, and the unwillingness of moving some of my youth

I agree keeping the cap way it is. The salaries haven't increased like they are when the cap goes up in the NHL. I'm in the same boat as many contending team with little wiggle room to make trades until the $5mill increase just before the trade deadline. But this season has been really slow for trades...I think more teams are hanging onto their prospects/picks than in the past.

My goaltending ain't where it needs to be for me to contend - Smith is just too inconsistent. Also it seems impossible to add another impact D at this point. So I will likely sell off a bit when the cap goes up. Here, take Malkin. Malkin + Ovi oh my! Someone hide the grey goose!!
