Man unassigned pickups are often hit or miss, and sometimes you're stuck with a mediocre player making a lot of money. Want to take a moment and gloat about the only two guys I won with silent bids:
Olofsson: 14g, 18a, 32 pts, +4 in 35 games Graves: 5g, 8a, 13 pts, +22 in 32 games
Had a feeling Vic would eventually settle into his 4.4 mil but definitely a pleasant surprise to see it might happen next season. Graves I'll be honest had no idea would be this good. The dude is like the Avs top pairing D with EJ out.
Anyone else have unassigned pickups that are killing it?

At first I didn't think Olofsson would be worth that contract but after seeing him perform and now that he is solidified on that first line with Eichel that's a great addition to a re-tooling Leafs team

Definitely big steps can be taken in unassigned towards building your team, really goes to show how much $10 million in cap space is worth ;-)
Getting two solid unassigned picks in one off season is huge. I think in the 10 plus years here I only have gotten Weber, Palat, and Rittich as players with actual value.

Pretty sure Kempny was the most successful one for me. Can't think of the others off the top of my head, and don't think there's an easy way to look it up. Who's the most successful unassigned pickup in recent years? Panarin?

Hm so back to back decisive wins against the Habs and Bruins, both with Nilsson in net lol. I still don't get how goalies work in sths.
Fleury played like crap for me last year, Markstrom has terrible stats in 9 games so far. Meanwhile Nilsson with a 73OV and worse core ratings across the board comes in and gives vezina numbers. Don't get it, but it looks like I have a new starter!

Did I pick up Klingberg? All I remember is trading him for Josi.

Oooooooof.
Costly win over the Preds today.
Blake The Dealer Wheeler dealt out some punishment to Lame Jamie Benn in their scrap. Suspended 6 games.

Hope Mackinnon stays toward the top of scoring this year. It will be nice to see a Pens player on that scoring leaders list towards the end of the season. Ever since I put Josh Anderson on the top line with Panarin and MacK they seem to be clicking better than they did with Voracek - which on paper doesn't make any sense but WHATEVER.

The sim is pretty weird like that, stacking ratings is not as effective as we might think. It's like making a soup, you put too much or too little of something and it's shit - put three players with 80SC and 80PA together and they cancel each other out. I can see how Anderson with 79DF, 83CK, 79ST, and 76SC can do a lot more for your stars than a Voracek.
Forwards and D I somewhat understand, goalies on the other hand..

5 game win streak out scoring opponents 29-10. This might be my best run ever considering the goal differential. Not sure if it's Nilsson or putting Ellis together with Ekholm, but I'll take it.

Holy fuck, MAF must be the worst 82 OV goalie of all time. I just don't get it. Pretty fucking pathetic.

Ah ye ole hockey simulator, figure you out never will I.
Jayzus. So Vasilevskey gives up 6 on 100 conditioning. Ben Bishop gives up just 2 on 98 conditioning.
WITAF
