Well, here in Canada, Provincial governments are saying that there will be more severe restrictions as people are not respecting the isolation request they have put in place. Some of those more severe restriction could be fines up $1000 for individuals and up to $500 000 for businesses. There could also be arrests.
In Quebec, a woman has already been arrested because she had tested positive and did not isolate herself for the required 14 days. So last night, the Quebec government said that people are not allowed outside or in large groups unless it is to go to work or to go get groceries. People are no allowed to invite people to there homes. Only people living at the same address are allowed.
This is getting worse by the minute, and it is sad to see that many many people, young and old are not following orders. I fear and feel that martial law will be implemented. Unfortunately, you will still have some of those idiots that will not listen.

Yea lot of the same here in Toronto, Al. EB had a big game release (Doom Eternal) and allowed people to line up at the store shoulder to shoulder for hours. Glad you mentioned martial law because I also think that's where it's headed. I'm already oblivious to everything, that predictive programming works wonders. Incoming digital tattoos and microchips for all!

Well live animal transport has been embargoed by Canada. There is no information about this online, you have to stay on hold for hours with all of the major airlines to get the info. So it came down to either leaving my pets behind or just isolating here and I chose the latter. I didnβt feel comfortable in Hawaii given the curve the US is currently on, the complete lack of meaningful action from the state of Hawaii, the still constant flow of tourists, the cases doubling in 48 hours here, and the relative lack of ICU beds. It seems like much of the US is still just coming to terms with this. It feels like Americans think they are immune to what happened in Italy, but right now the US is on that path. By the time people in power accept the circumstances it might be too late. yeah you need to stay in and be safe. I just read that A Cruise just disembarked this morning in Hawaii after floating around for days.

There's no reason people shouldn't be sending in lines and/or fixing their rosters. If you're stuck inside then what else do you have to do?

Michigan ordered a lockdown for all people for about 3 weeks. My fiance works in a hospital and she said its like a horror movie there, not enough ventilators to go around and not enough Person Protective equipment to share.

Supply chain issues on this stuff is so terrible! * They're clamping down at my work (cancer centre) and starting tomorrow intense staff screening protocol - think i'm not going to be able to go to work as I have sore throat and cough (fairly mild) - sux cause we're short staffed as it is...what can ya do... * For some humour in this crazy situation (not sure you young ones will know the original tune or not) My friend did a solo remake and video of The Ramones "I Wanna Be Sedated" >> COVID Isolated. (Caution: there maybe an F-bomb when he sings about mtn biking ; )

Hey guys,
Here is a little update. First, I would like to apologize for not being very present the last few days. All hell as broken loose at work (I work with the Canadian customs targeting center), and the past few weeks have been a nightmare, that pretty much exploded today.
Basically, 2 weeks ago, we found out that someone from work came to work knowing that one of their family member was sick. Then on her last day of work, they found out that that person was positive for the coronavirus. She then informed management, but they decided to wait a week before letting us know, because that is when the employee decided to get tested. Today, at around 5pm, we were informed that the employee's test was positive...
I have no clue who that person is, as they will not tell us, so I have no way of knowing if I was in contact with that person or not. So, since 5pm, I have gove through a rollercoaster of emotions and my stress level has gone through the roof. To make things a bit worse for me, I am diabetic, and the stress raises my sugar levels, and that is not a good thing; plus, they say diabetics are at a higher risk of getting this expletive virus. So my situation is not getting any better with all this stupid information. Luckily for me, there is a testing site near my house, and I am planning to go there first thing tomorrow morning. I am praying for a negative result; but not sure how long it will take for me to get it, so more stress in the next few days is in the horizon for me.
Since I have decided not to go to work until I get my results, I am going to try to be present a bit more.
Be safe my friends, and stay home if you don't need to go out.

There is no reason they shouldn't tell you who it was so you could know if you were possibly exposed or not. It's actually pretty irresponsible for them not to tell you! Definitely don't worry until you actually have something to worry about, that useless stress of over-thinking will get you nowhere, and is not going to change a test result. Enjoy the time off as much as you can and keep us updated.

So crazy, Al!
This is ridiculously irresponsible of them.
Keep well, my friend, through these stressful times. Really hope you don't get this.
I finally got test results yesterday - negative - took a week! But they had problems with supply chain and getting reagents used for testing.
Thinking about you, bud. Hand in there - hopefully you get results fast and get rest easy.

My employer has his head up his ass too. Literally called a meeting a couple of weeks ago and put about 80 employees into a single room at the same time. During that meeting he said the employees who did not show up for the meeting (because it was against federal and state recommendations) were not committed enough and did not deserve an email summarizing the meeting.

Damn, Al that is definitely a frustrating situation. Hoping your test is negative, and that you get some time off until it's safer to resume. It's so much more stressful when you're more at risk too. I'm a former asthmatic with on and off breathing issues so it's muddy waters even though I'm younger.
Let's hope these stressful times blow over for all of us and we get back to normal life with seeing our families without restrictions, going out to eat, and watching hockey games. God damn it I even miss Brad Marchand at this point.

Well this is fucked!!! I went to get tested yesterday, but since I did not have any symptoms, and even though I had contact with an infected person, they said that they would not test me. Told me to keep an eye open to see if I develop symptoms and then to go back at that time. I mentioned about my family situation and they still refused to test me... I am at a lost for words, this country, this world is going to shits and there are still some idiots that go about and act like nothing is wrong... When will people fucking understand that this is bad, and that it can affect any body no matter what their age, health, color or creed... Now, my next option is to hope that my employer will provide me with the necessary tools to work from home, when I go back in on Monday. But to be honest, I am not holding my breath on that one. Sorry for the vulgarity, just pissed with what is going on, and how the system is managed...

βLike sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives.β And and like Groundhog Day, the same shit keeps repeating itself...
This evening, before I left work, we were informed that there was a second Coronavirus case, albeit presumptive; the person is waiting to be tested, but as all the symptoms.
Management still refuses to allow us to work from home. But we found out that as of yesterday, they close a port of entry because someone at the port tested positive.
Gotta love the double standards in the government...
