First I want to say goodluck to all those teams that either improved for playoff runs, and the teams that looked ahead to the future. Was a great trading week to be a part of and watch!!
Games of the week : 871 San Jose Sharks vs Philadelphia Flyers both teams looking to secure better playoff positions.
873 Montreal Canadiens vs New York Rangers, top teams in there repective divisions, should be interested to see Montreals new look against another powerhouse.
902 New York Rangers vs Los Angeles Kings Another battle of 2 top teams
912 San Jose Sharks vs Chicago Blackhawks another game to watch for playoff implacations.
Who's hot: Montreal, to say they won the trade deals would be an understatement, can't wait to see the fruits of those amazing deals
Philadelphia Flyers 9-1-0, this team has stayed hot for a few weeks now, the only thing stopping them from being atop the division is the equally hot NYR, has to be frustrating!
Edmonton Oilers: making a run in the pacific leapfrogging both the flames and the sharks ( both have 4 games in hand) and looking to pass Vancouver, will be a wild battle for playoff positions
Ilya Kovalchuk (NYI), 4 game goal scoring streak
Bo Horvat (CHI), 9 game point streak
Who's not : The Flames , Sharks and Redwings, all slowed down this past week. who will step it up in the tight west conference.
Sean Couturier (TBL) 200 Hits taken, pasted more than photoshopped pictures
Fun Fact: On deadline day, 26 players traded teams along with 8 draft picks Take that TSN!
Player Profile: Jordan Staal ( Car )
Aquired: July 9th, 2015 from Philadelphia along with Matt Hunwick for Peter Holland 2015 5th Rd. Pick
Age:33
Contract: 2 yr 5 million per
Owner BIO:
Name: Eugene Sorokin, Eug for short or Evgeni if we're going by my Soviet union birth name
Team: Toronto Maple Leafs (the one that won something since 1967)
JGHL time served: since the beginning of time
Birthplace: Kiev, Ukraine (left when i was 3)
Now Residing: just north of Toronto, Canada
Movies/Shows: Infinity War (watched it probably over 8 times by now, anxiously awaiting Captain Marvel and Avengers 4 of course), Always Sunny (new season now!), Westworld (nice trippy show), Sopranos (alltime fav), recently got into Master Chef (formulaic but so much fun and educational), The Office (before Michael left, everything after was just unnecessary imo)
Music/artists: all over the place with mine, i like jazzy hip hop lately, but deep house always speaks to my soul
Fav Place: Prague and Peru were my fav from the past; went to New Orleans last year for Wrestlemania (it's still real to me dammit) and it was a great city; hoping to book something for December, thinking of Jamaica, i heard they got nice fresh green vegetables there
Fav Podcasts: ehhh not much here but i dabble in Joe Rogan's podcasts, just watched the Elon Musk one last week, that dude is smart but whack; Oh and love James Corbett, check him out on YT if you want some harsh truth about our world
Something I used to believe but no longer do: politics, it's all a crock of shit, there's no 2 parties (or 4 in Canada), it's all run by money and big corp, with minute details separating them; it's all like, a bit scam, dude
Fav Book: Booker T, followed closely by Devin Booker
Fav Apps: Reddit (sigh), Waze, Spotify
Life Hacks: going to bed before 11:30 on weeknights; doing chores, errands or any key tasks right away, that's really changed my game in recent years
Preferred method of communication: honestly if anyone ever wants to have better back and forth trade talks, Whatsapp is my preferred, feel free to holler at 289-387-3685; i don't do much SM, even off Twitter lately. Rarely/not on on FB, IG, Snapchat (whatever that even is); pretty active on LinkedIn but that's for work related purposes.
Celebrating a birthday this week: Happy Birthday IslesGM ( Sept 30th )
The fun side: High sticking, tripping, slashing, spearing, charging, hooking, fighting, unsportsmanlike conduct, interference, roughing......everything else is just figure skating. Scotty Bowman
