I honestly thought it would be at his current salary being that he'd have to be activated but 10 mill for a guy whos going to play 35-40 games this year is alot. I'm not sure what you thought his "current salary" would be since he's not rated. But there are a few ways to look at this. First and foremost, the last thing I want from this situation is for a new GM to be soured within the 1st week of being here because A. With all our rules and sub-rules he happened to miss something which happens all the time to guys who have been here for years or B. Because he feels like he was taken advantage of by another GM who thought he might be naive to the status of a player. Now I'm not saying that is what Washington did, because obviously I was not involved in their trade talks, but it's certainly a feeling I can see Billy having about their negotiations. On another note, I do not personally see how you can see a name like Nabakov on a prospect list and not question why a veteran is actually on a prospect list. That would personally lead me to further investigation and possibly pose questions as to his status. Maybe Billy hasn't come upon the "Players Under Contract" link in the clubhouses, maybe he doesn't even know they are there yet, I don't know. But in his defense there is only one link in the rules to explain "Unrated Prospects" which actually addresses nothing on the subject of "Players Under Contract", and the other reference falls under "Players Playing In Other Leagues/Countries" which Nabakov is obviously not, so that wouldn't have helped him much either if he was looking for info. This happened a few years back when the new Nashville GM (Darren's friend) made a trade for Iginla, not knowing he would lose him in 2 seasons. I'm quite sure he wouldn't have given up what he did had he had known. I don't want Washington being upset that a deal he made is going to get pulled, but honestly I think that is the best solution. Obviously Billy wouldn't have made the deal had he known the contract circumstances, and regardless if Washington knew and just didn't tell him is irrelevant since that's not his responsibility.

On another note I really like the LA/Wpg deal from both sides!

A lot happens if you go away for a day in this league!
I passed the Fisher deal, although I think Fisher is going to be worth a lot more next season.

On another note I really like the LA/Wpg deal from both sides! I agree, Perrault is getting more and more minute and will continue bacause that is what hunter wants, someone who skates hard and this kid can score.....Fisher has one year after this

Its been removed. This is the lone time this happens Good call for just this one time. It's a bit overwhelming to come in near the trade deadline and have half the league looking to make a trade while keeping up with all the rules. He'll learn and turn his team around. By the way, welcome to the league!

Ray has done pretty well with his two Datsyuk trades... he now has Staal, Parenteau, and Hanzal, while only giving up Bergeron and a bunch of over paid depth players (Upshall, Vermette and Cullen). Very nice set of trades.

Yikes, Calgary is going to be pretty damn good next season. As always but there is some possible cap issue with Giordano, Nash and Subban getting new contracts nexy season....Could add upward of 10 million to salary cap just for those 3 plus 10 millian for Datsyuk....20 mill for those 4 and 37 million for rest of team. Add Green and Malkin and you got 6 players for 30 million! More moves will be needed I am thinking bu my friend Chris in off season but have no doubt he will still be under and still have monster team once cap is figured out.....and it will be a monster!

OK...official statement time! ;D For the record, I didn't whine, bitch or complain about the Nabokov trade. I also never asked for it to be voided. However, I do appreciate you guys looking out for me! Of course had I of known his contract would have been 10 mil I never would have done the deal. By "current" contract I assumed (ya ya I know the saying) that it would have been what he's getting with the Islanders or whatever prospects sign for, so my bad! I was fully prepared to be stuck with him for the one season. I'm not a baby who would pout and quit the league. I would've stuck around guys! No hard feelings against the Washington GM. I received a classy email from him this morning apologizing (thank you very much sir!). So onto bigger and better things! Let's have some fun!

Subban has a contract, I think you were looking at Klesla. He'll have some cap problems, but I'm sure he'll work them out. I really don't think Giordano is going to get much of a raise with the season he is having.
