There'll definitely be some wheeling and dealing in the offseason to squeeze under the cap for next season! Tough to give up Staal and taking on Datsyuk's 10 mil salary, but helluva player!

Yes he is, which is why you are moving up to top for next season, another monster if you get cap in good position......as always!

That St. Louis trade scares me! I've been talking to Joe for weeks about Jurcina, but that deal made me give in and give up what he wanted. Also glad we got Kunitz coming over in a few days!
And holy Tampa! I'm sure Toronto is glad he gets St. Louis back soon, but man that's a boatload of talent to add while losing nothing from your roster!

The deadline deals this year are unusually big. I don't remember a bigger deadline deal that the Thornton trade. I also think St. Louis not only gained two great players right now, but IMO that trade will look great in the long run too. With all this buying of UFAs, I would think someone would contact me about Iginla, the highest rated one out there

Chicago is happy to welcome talented new prospects to the team! Brandon Saad is Captain of the Saginaw Spirit in the OHL and has 21 goals, 33 assists (54) in just 31 games and a +23. Good for 34th in the OHL. Got a little NHL taste early this year. Alexander Khokhlachev is sitting at 21st in the OHL with 60 points (20-40), the #1 rated Center Prospect on the Bruins. Very committed to playing in North America. Have a lot of talented youth for a long time, I'm content to wait till the time is right

Do my eyes deceive me?!? Ladies and gentlemen, Jeff (WildGM) who has been here since Oct 7th, 2008 has finally popped his cherry! Congrats on your first trade, I'm still not even sure how that's possible!

Yeah, I convinced him at the Leafs-Oilers game on Wednesday night that he needed to make a huge trade. We came up with Willie Mitchell for a fourth rounder...

Congrats on your first trade, I'm still not even sure how that's possible! He did make a big splash signing Dion Phaneuf as a RFA, essentially forcing me to take compensation.

What can I say I was caught up in the defensive battle between the Leafs and Oilers and felt I needed a defenseman.
Wild Press Release
As a result of the trade, a parade has been planned for Tuesday at 10:00 am. It will be down Hennepin Avenue, then up 7th Street S culminating in a rally at the Target Center. At the rally Willie Mitchell will be presented the key to the city of Minneapolis.
On a side note, February 18th was also going to be known as Willie Mitchell day in both twin cities. This idea was rejected since Mitchell only has one year left on his contract and he may not be with team next year. City officials thought it might be awkward in years to come.

No offense to the current Wild GM who seems line a fine guy but whatever happened to the future NHL GM that was the Wild GM for 10 minutes back on the day?
He came in like a banshee and then seemed to leave with barely a whimper.
I think it may be time for Ray to write a history of the league once original GM Mooney wins the Cup this year!!

After his poor showing in the playoffs, he split. He was here a full season. I liked him, and alot of us did, he was very teaseable though, cause he took himself a bit too serious, which made him an enabler for ribbing. Is that who you're talking about, when we sent in pictures a few years ago?

What's the record for trades in one day?
I'm at four so far today.
