I was the worst team the last 2 years and got #3 and #2 respectively. This is exactly the reason they changed the NHL lottery. I'm disappointed but think it's good for the league (both the N and the J). I'm sure it's definitely a bummer to miss out on the #1 overall. However, in the history of the league you've had 9 top 10 picks. Out of those 9, 8 of them have been top 5, and two of those top 5 picks were #1 overall and landed you Ovechkin and Matthews. I'd say you're still ahead of the game Ohh Montreal, the land where failure and futility is an almost exact science. Both leagues too. We should start penalizing teams that deliberately do not acquire a pro roster goalie IMHO

Just a matter of determining what OV is a "starting" goalie.

Worked great when it was the old lottery and I got ovie and Matthews, but the new rules mean it makes more sense to hold onto guys than tear it all the way down. I'm good with that!

Well gentlemen, I definitely am surprised by all of this. It was a gutsy call trading Radulov before the deadline, and honestly probably could have made it farther in the playoffs with him. But it looks like I made a good decision for once! I already have a good group of prospects for D, can’t wait to have Dahlin a part of that.

The option to drop players with contracts will close Sunday night @ 8PM(EST)! Once it is closed it will not re-open until the season starts. So if you need to clear cap room to sign your RFAs, bid on UFAs or sign players during the first wave of unassigned, then you will have no means to do so other than trading. So check your FAs and cap room and make sure you are where you need to be. jghl.net/JGHL1819-TeamFinance.html#SalaryCapCentralejghl.proboards.com/thread/8545/fa-cap-room-roster-countPlayer drops: Be sure to read the guidelines in the first post of the thread. Thread is found in the "Rules, Players, Official Biz" section on the board: jghl.net/rules.html#Dropping_Players

Guys, if you are not re-signing a 24 and under player then please put “no contract” so I know this and can lock your thread!

Free agency will be closing Sunday night at 10PM(EST). So if you have any remaining RFAs you want to re-sign I suggest getting on them asap! Sunday at 10PM(EST) any remaining unsigned RFAs will be removed from your team and added to the unassigned list, no exceptions. jghl.proboards.com/thread/8545/fa-cap-room-roster-count

For weeks now (don't ask why) I was thinking Jokiharju was available on unassigned. Maybe I confused him with Sami Niku or something, but just looked him up and realized he was a CHI 1st rounder, and Detroit property in the J. DAMNIT! i was so excited for unassigned just for the Joker, but now it's just a bunch of meh out there. Maybe im wrong but this year unassigned looks pretty weak sauce.

I drafted him and traded him in a three way deal for Rick Nash at deadline last season.. If I didn't listen to my heart and listened to my brain, this rebuild would be going a lot smoother with the likes of Jokiharju and Owen Tippett in the cupboards...
