NHL suspended the season a little bit again but the JHGL lives on thanks to the amazing league leaders who had a plan in place to continue on with season! Damn I will be watching all kinds of TV shows and might even start reading again!

Yup as expected. Huge bummer but obviously totally understandable. It would have been really awkward if things went on status quo.
When NBA owners had their call, the only one that objected to suspension was James Dolan. I wouldn't be shocked if the only owner that objected on the NHL side was Melnyk.

Totally agree on the Melnyk part. Although this might turn out to be a blessing in disguise, with no money coming in, he might be force to sell the team, since he would not have any funds coming in to pay the players... lol

Does this affect ratings at all for next season?

Does this affect ratings at all for next season? Not really. Decent sample size of games already. It would be a pain to edit the ratings excel sheets to make the necessary changes though for prorating points / other stats and changing the rating deduction cut offs.

Wishful thinking here but hopefully this dies down and they close out the season in May. A lot needs to go right before that of course..

The NHL asked for teams to provide venue schedules through the end of July. My birthday is July 5th, I've always wanted to go to a game for my birthday. If there is any kind of hockey on my birthday (probably won't be in Detroit) I am going to do my best to go!

Goalies affected moreso than players potentially?

I donβt think it will make a big difference.
Hopefully the NHL finishes the season in the summer.
