Games of the week : Day 133 - Philadelphia Flyers vs Montreal Canadiens, Hottest team vs the top in the Atlantic
Day 137 - Colorado Avalanche vs Carolina Hurricanes, 8-2 teams in their last 10 square off
Day 139 - Vancouver Canucks vs Calgary Flames, Pacific Division battle
Who's hot: The Minnesota Wild , playing decent hockey to try and secure a playoff spot.
The Flyers, what are they putting in the cheese steaks down there...10-0-0 still the hottest team in the league.
The Hurricanes at home 9-1-0 in last 10. Teams blow in and leave wiped out.
Mika Zibanejad - 42 goals in only 61 games so far.
NYR- First to clinch a playoff spot, Congrats!
Who's not : The Detroit Redwings, after sitting in a playoff spot, they have slipped and are now looking outside in 3-7-0 in last 10.
The Pittsburgh Penguins, Seem stuck in the 2nd wildcard spot
Did you know: Calgarys Connor Murphy , first to 100 PIM
Player Profile: Dylan Strome (NYI)
Aquired: February 14th for Jacob Trouba & 17' 1st Rd Pick
Age:24
Contract: 4yr 1.5 per yr
Captain of the NYI
2 seasons totals with the Islanders: 146 games 55 g 94 a 149 pts
Owner BIO:
Name: Mike
Team: Penguins
JGHL time served: Started in February 2016!
Birthplace: Detroit, Michigan.
Now Residing: Detroit, Michigan
Current Obsession: I am trying to pick up the guitar, I played a little bit when I was younger but never got into it. Now I have more down time than usual so I am trying to learn!
Other Hobbies: Softball team during the summers, traveling when time and money allows it, video games, walking around downtown Detroit and Ann Arbor hanging around with friends.
Fav Sports Teams: Red Wings (ironic, seeing as I run the Penguins team lol. 07/08 and 08/09 finals memories come back alot!) Tigers, Lions (ugh), OKC Thunder (only basketball team that interests me) Any University of Michigan sports team as well.
Something not too many know about you: Every now and then I like to go on an adventure by myself, whether it is a long drive and walking around a park or a beach that is near me. Sometimes I just like to get away from everything and enjoy some scenery and think about what's going on in my life.
Fav Super Hero: The Flash and Green Arrow are two of my all time favorites, and of course Batman.
Star Wars or Star Trek? - Interestingly enough I never got into either of these. Never watched either series...
Gretzky, Lemieux, Howe, or Orr? From these options obviously my choice is Howe, but growing up my guy was always The Captain, Stevie Y. The way he always battled even when he was injured was a huge growing up, and it taught me to always fight through your battles. The way he lead the Red Wings while he was there is something that I will never forget. Seeing them win it in 97/98 and 02 was great, but as I get older I am starting to realize how great those Red Wings teams actually were and how they will always be part of the great history of the franchise.
But in the JGHL, I am a Penguins fan, and will do my best to win a championship here!
Celebrating a birthday this week: Long time GM Kevin Singh of the Florida Panthers Sept 25 Happy Birthday!
The fun side:
"Why is a puck called a puck? Because dirty little bastard was taken."
Devils goalie Martin Brodeur.
