Well the Re-Draft Lottery has come and gone and Some teams find themselves in a great position while other may find themselves in a tight spot. Here were the final results for the upcoming Pro Draft:
1. Dallas 2. Tampa Bay 3. Boston 4. Calgary 5. Hartford 6. San Jose 7. Carolina 8. Chicago 9. Toronto 10. New York Islanders 11. Washington 12. Ottawa 13. Vancouver 14. Colorado 15. Seattle 16. New York Rangers 17. Minnesota 18. Montreal 19. Buffalo 20. Edmonton 21. Quebec 22. Detroit
That means things will be quiet around here as managers prep for a large workload in the coming weeks. Remember the updated draft info is as follows:
JGHL 2.0 Pro Draft
October 11th 2022 (First pick at 9am EST / Day ends at Midnight and resumes 9am EST next day)
-Snake Draft
-20 Minutes per pick (All missed picks will be moved to end of the round. NO EXCEPTIONS)
*I know this has been a topic of debate, and I just want to be clear this is only to help make the draft proceed. We cant be holding up every time someone misses their 20 minute window and I don't want to take the risk of any headaches if I have two team pick at once because we let them pick whenever. Everyone in this league has enough hockey knowledge to make up some kind of list if they know they are gunna miss a day or two. I will gladly take updates to managers lists as the draft progresses, feel free to resend it as many times as you want. but all I'm asking is that if you know you are going to be unable to pick at least send me a list for that time frame so I can make the picks for you.
Hope everyone understands*
-Draft will be 40 rounds (Teams will be able to pick UP TO 5 unrated prospects, but not required)
Every team should have 40 players post draft (At least 35 need to be rated). If you are picking a player that is unrated, please try to mark it so that I can see for when inserting rosters. Draft will be held on the forum as usual. Ratings were finished being gathered tonight, Jake will be doing a final rundown on them and we hope to have them out to all managers mid week.
As always any questions or concerns just shoot me a message. Thank you everyone!

Hey guys,
Just wanted to check on a couple items:
1. We will have ratings before the draft starts? 2. There will not be an entry draft in 2022, rather people can use up to 5 of their current picks on unrated players anywhere they want in the draft? (and then in 2023 we will go back to normal drafts as in the past)
3. Are we going to change the playoff format? because 16 teams out of 22 making it doesnt seem too sensical to me!
Thanks!
Shawn

Hunter said ratings hopefully mid-week; Jake having final looks - think he was asking on Discord for some help reviewing 2. No 2022 entry draft. 3. That might be tough, no? Not sure how sim would handle it. If say 12 teams, byes would be weird format imo. Down to 8 teams would be not enough.

We may have no choice but to go with 14 making playoffs with top seeded in each conference getting bye in first round! top points gets bye and #1 seed, 2nd seed is winner of other division, two 2nds become 3rd and 4th seeds and seeds 5 through 7 of need 3 highest points in conference.. Cannot do 12 unless you give all 4 division winners byes, which may not be fair if that division was weak and 2nd and 3rd have more points. So 14 may have to be way we go I think. 8 is just too low, all teams needing two round to get to finals. I mean, yes the two #1s will only need two round but they won their conference, they deserve it and should be awarded a bye and easier path. Just me 2 cents plus only thing that makes sense to me, but hey I have old mind, younger minds may be a lot sharper. LOL

I dont love it, but its the history of the N (not the J). Seems to wrap up the question nicely.

Shawn Chris covered it. Any 5 of your current picks can be used on an unrated prospect, as long as they are currently drafted to an NHL team. In terms of ease for myself im going to leave it 16 teams, if we would like to bring up the discussion down the line im certainly game. Hope this helps

16 teams have made the Stanley Cup playoffs in the NHL since 1979, when there were only 21 teams. This shirt looks to me like there’s no draft this year Please go read the draft announcement thread (which you commented on btw). Rookie draft will be held at later date for all unrated players drafted in 2022 NHL draft or earlier, hence why no 2022 draft. I have said multiple times now that we will return to regular entry drafts in 2023
