I think with the first pick if the guy doesn't show up he just gets the first pick from NHL. Way too much of a blow to the team to have them miss the pick completely. But I understand that rules are rules and it has been clearly stated when the draft times were and that a list could be sent in prior to draft. I'm looking at the situation like this... 1. He traded up to get the #1. I'm pretty sure he didn't trade for the #1 to jump the board and select Murray or Galchenyuk. 2. We have never had a draft where the #1 in the NHL was not taken as the #1 here. So I'm gonna give him Yak and move on. I don't think there should be any objections. And trust me, nobody would like to skip his pick more than me, and I'm not happy about this at all! * - accidentally deleted this post

Maybe lose a mid to late round pick...and move it to last I agree with this... although chances are if he missed the 1st overall, he'll miss his 2nd round pick too.

Agreed! I think decisions like that really help keep parity in the league.
Still, this is a ridiculous situation that should never happen.

Buffalo will start the season with 1 strike against. I have a feeling one of the next two picks (if not both) will be skipped

Anyways, back to draft chat!
If anyone has been keeping track of Galchenyuk's numbers, he has really started putting up a lot of points the last few games.

Has anyone ever thought of changing the time on the forum to EST? You can adjust your own clock, we don't set the clock.

Buffalo will start the season with 1 strike against. I think we should give what the NHL picked plus a strike, if it happens any more, but only for the 1st Rd. Any 2nd rd misses should be skipped and a strike also given.. I think we should receive an E-mail in regard to any strikes we receive, so that it is official. JMO
