Now that the season is over I wanted to do a comparison between last years stats using V1 and this seasons stats switching to V2 of the sim. Overall from the numbers below I think we're as dead on as we could possibly be. However there are a few thoughts down below.....
Stat Comparisons V1/V2:
Goals Per Game:
2011-12 - 2.85 League Avg. (High/Low: 3.51/1.99)
2012-13 - 2.96 League Avg. (High/Low: 3.68/2.09)
Shots Per Game:
2011-12 - 26.65 League Avg. (High/Low: 29.50/22.44)
2012-13 - 27.61 League Avg. (High/Low: 32.43/23.06)
PIM Per Game:
2011-12 - 8.53 League Avg. (High/Low: 6.38/11.07)
2012-13 - 9.78 League Avg. (High/Low: 7.46/12.77)
Hits Per Game:
2011-12 - 20.28 League Avg. (High/Low: 21.84/18.98)
2012-13 - 21.89 League Avg. (High/Low: 24.21/19.67)
Power Play %:
2011-12 - 16.92 League Avg. (High/Low: 21.89/10.81)
2012-13 - 17.26 League Avg. (High/Low: 24.00/11.37)
Penalty Kill %:
2011-12 - 83.08 League Avg. (High/Low: 90.67/76.05)
2012-13 - 82.74 League Avg. (High/Low: 88.07/75.96)

I had originally thought that it seemed like D goal scoring was up this season, but upon stat comparisons: last season (V1) 27 D scored 10 or more goals, this season (V2) 32 did the same.
I also thought that PIMs for D seemed to be up, but upon further review: last season (V1) 23 D had 100 or more PIMs, this season (V2) 26 did the same.
I really wish there was a way to cut down on the D PIMs, especially to players with DI in the mid-high 70's that are still pulling 100+ PIMs. Unfortunately I think this is just something we'll have to live with.
Maybe it's because of more "stacked" teams or the fact that players now get more ice-time since it's manually set rather than sim designated, but the amount of 30+ goal scorers has gone up. Last season (V1) only 1 player scored 40 goals, this season (V2) 8 players hit the 40 goal mark. Last season (V1) 22 players scored 30+ goals, this season (V2) there were 38 players with 30+.
6,086 goals were scored last season (V1)
6,308 goals were scored this season (V2)
These numbers are kinda puzzling (especially 16 more players reaching 30 goals) since looking above all the averages are basically the same, but like I said maybe it's attributed to more talented teams, more low-level teams and more ice-time.
Also points-wise, last season (V1) 24 players scored 70+ Pts, this season (V2) there were 41 players who scored 70+ Pts.
16,861 points were scored last season (V1)
17,402 points were scored this season (V2)
.....Just some stuff I noticed.
