That illustrates why we never have good trade talks Ray haha. I thought the exact opposite! I prefer what NJ and Vancouver got.

Thought the Kings sold very nicely on Karlsson.

Thought the Kings sold very nicely on Karlsson. I disagree... Number 1, i think he could have gotten more ... Robin Lehner will never be the goalie that people think he's going to be. Number 2... for a team that's been struggling to build something for the last little while, i cant understand why you'd trade your cornerstone for nothing proven. I passed the deal but i dont understand what LA is thinking.

I don't know that trade gave him the top 2 picks in this draft +, he ends up with 4 picks in the top 15 and lot's of young D talent available. Not that bad imo. But like Jake said, the buyers had a good day.

I think simply Mike continues what he sees as a longer term rebuild - can't fault him for that. I thought solid deal for both squads.

Overall I really didn't like any of the trades for the rebuilding teams. Couture, Ryan, and Karlsson all are traded and the only established NHLers going the other way are Barkov and Lehner. The 2nd overall pick is obviously a highly valued asset, but given the elite talent traded away I would have wanted more proven talent coming back. You don't need a crystal ball to realize there is a very good chance many (maybe most) of the futures traded do not turn into impact players... and there is also a good chance those that do, are no where near the Couture/Karlsson level.
