www.theplayerstribune.com/a-guy-like-me/Very good read, gives you a lot of insight into John Scott, certainly gave me even more respect for him (not that I disliked him prior) and makes me upset the league tried so hard to ruin this once in al lifetime experience for him. I'm excited for an All-star game for the 1st time in a LONG time, can't wait to see Scott play on Sunday.

I hear what you're saying, Gavin, but to me it seems if you have an NHL All-Star game that has John Scott, but doesn't have Ovi, Toews and Crosby, why bother at all?
The only thing that will save Scott from looking completely out of place will be that the players don't respect the game either and only go at about 75% pace.

Eh, they never exactly take it seriously anyway, most games are at about 50% (defensively) and about 80% offensively. So 75% pace sounds pretty standard, lol.
I'm hoping he lays out a good check or has a friendly fight or something. Hell, he might even surprise and play really well, he isn't completely lacking skill. With no Scott I probably would have skipped it entirely.

I was never a big fan of Scott but the article definitely changed my perspective on him a little. I think the biggest thing people are missing is that the game is for fans, it literally means nothing. The whole weekend and events are set up for the sole purpose of entertaining the fans, so let the fans vote in whoever they want.
The fact that someone from the NHL had the nerve to ask him "“Do you think this is something your kids would be proud of?” is absolutely obsurd and for everything the NHL has tried to do to get him not to play I'm very surprised he didn't out that person, which in context of the whole situation shows a lot of class on his part.
