After a devastating early playoff exit against the Canucks, the Sharks have re-tooled and are nearly ready for the new season.
Gaudreau - Tavares - Wheeler Pacioretty - Giroux - Stamkos Komarov - Stepan - Clutterbuck McLeod - Brodziak - Bouma
Josi - Martinez Suter - Shattenkirk Kulikov - Methot
Elliot Varlamov
Putting the puck in the net won't be the problem. This team's success will depend on how well they can keep it out.
The major change was shipping out Malkin for a more well-rounded centre in Giroux (albeit a less offensive one). Giroux is more disciplined, which will keep one of the most penalized teams from last year out of the box. Giroux is also one of the leagues best at winning face-offs, which will hopefully translate to better puck possession.
I'm excited for the third line as well. All three are solid in their own end. Clutterbuck and Komarov are among the leagues most prolific hitters (while fairly disciplined), and Stepan/Komarov are also pretty proficient scorers. Hopefully they can capitalize on some of the turn overs they cause!
The biggest question mark is in net. The addition of Elliot will stabilize that a lot. Compared to the other top teams starters, he is still a step behind though.

One of the best lineups I have seen so far. Definitely not going to enjoy playing the Sharks!

I agree, such a deep group, the fact you have Stamkos on your 2nd line in nuts. And I'll hate matching up against that 3rd line.
