**I actually don't think it should be for all cases when you simply miss a pick. Jon/Gavin have this well organized, so if you anticipate not being around it should be by list. Jon wants engaged GMs. I think having people randomly come in who missed their pick and then pick would be slightly chaotic and cause Jon/Gavin too many headaches... My 20 pesos (or whatever the current exchange rate for 2 cents is...) I guess I just hate to see a guy miss a pick (especially in the 1st 2 rounds), so I am probably more lenient than I should be when it comes to missing picks.

I hate the idea of lists because for me I often change my mind depending on who is picked and like to have a last minute look at a few guys available and make my choice based on that.
That said I also don't understand how it can take so long between picks. Again I understand people have way busier lives than I do but in that case why not send in a list? I would actually be in favor of harsher time limits given out but understand I am in the minority when it comes to that.
Edit: And yes I fully realize now that I made this post I will be the guy holding up the draft for a ridiculously long time in an upcoming round!!

Hey gang - if you can, please put your pick # when making a selection. Makes it easier to figure out where we are at and who's up. (Especially for those of us who drop in and out)
For the record, Jim & his big bad Bruins up at #47
Mike & the pesky Pens on deck for #48

Since we've doing this there's been missed picks in every draft (even 1st round) and every single missed pick was moved to the end of the 5th round. If you guys wants to ignore the two emails I sent out about draft times and missing picks, the posts on the board about draft times and missing picks, the PMs I send out when picks are upcoming and the news fader that states you're on the clock then that's fine, however then next year we'll be moving to lists after the 2nd round, just like it used to be. With lists it will all be over in a few days and there will be no making up picks if yours is missed. If and/or when Buffalo misses their pick should they be allowed to select whenever they decide to show up? I'm not going to pick and choose who gets to make up a pick when one is missed, it just wouldn't be fair. It's either one way or not. Maybe someone else can take the burden of deciding who gets a pass and then explaining to them why another GM got to re-pick but they had to wait until the end of the 5th round. Montreal has the 1st pick in the 3rd, if he doesn't care then Al can pick before Montreal does. Sorry guys, didnt see the question. Thanks Ray! Im 100% fine. Al, please do the honours.

Glad to see Anaheim get their pick, unfortunate events happen when we least expect them too. Glad to see that everything is ok and we are back on track!

Kind of cool that Al got the 43rd NHL drafted prospect at his picked pick for #42 - and a damn good one in Janne Kuokkanen.
Well played, JGHL GMs, well played...
(K, maybe I've been listening to too many podcasts on life-hacking, lifestyle design, etc, etc with common themes of gratitude and compassion...lol)

My Draft Beer for Draft Advice service is up and running. ; )
[Funny, I sent Jon/Gav a huge list as I thought the picks would fly off the board today!]

JGHL Draft Fast Facts
What is it with the Flames and the #70 pick? - recently traded Scott Kosmachuk and Taylor Beck (pending) were both 3rd rnd, 70th OV selections in the NHL - The Flames shiny new draft pick selection Will Bitten (62nd OV, acquired for Kosmachuk) was also selected 70th OV in the NHL this past draft. *** Flames 1st rnder Jake Bean is from Calgary, played for the Hitmen and his father has a big finance position with the NHL Flames *** Logan Stanley: selected by Jets in NHL; Nucks used Jets pick to draft him in JGHL *** Trent Frederic was the last NHL 1st rnder to be selected (TBL, 64th) *** Ryan Lindgren is the first player to be selected in this draft by the same franchise, NHL & JGHL (Bruins) [that I can see, that is)

USHL leading scorer last year, seems like a solid choice for the 77th.

That is roughly 18.4% of all draft picks.
