So let's hear it, how did the trade deadline this season help/hurt your team (real life team or JGHL team)? Vanek went to Florida for me, hopefully he can be surrounded by some quality players and continue his comeback season with the young Panthers team, although as a Red Wings fan, I wish the Wings would have got more for him! Also the LA Kings made some interesting moves with Bishop/Iginla. I think they can sneak in and give some Western Conference teams a run for their money.

NHL: As expected the Isles did absolutely nothing except watch competing playoff teams get better JGHL: I liked seeing Hansen go to SJ, hopefully gets a few more points now.

Don't think any of my guys for traded but NHL deadlines are so often quiet and disappointing. Just small pieces moving around for low picks..

Goldobin moving might be a good thing even though it's to a lower skilled team, he will have more opportunities there. He's been a bit of a slow burn if I'm honest.
I think that's all that got traded.

NHL: Pretty happy with the Hawks picking up Oduya.
JGHL: Very happy with my additions of Trouba 6gms 2pts +6 and Krejci 2gms 3pts +3. None of my core moved. Eaves was the only player on my team to move, and looks like he will rerate decent next season in the last year of his JGHL contract.

NHL: Happy Flames didn't go crazy overestimating their chances. I really liked the low risk pick up of Lazar. Stil think he has Bo Horvat like potential if he can be revitalized...
JGHL: Hanzal to the Wid should be good Kind of hoped Landeskog would get a change of scenery but wasn't surprised either...

They will probably get traded during the draft if I had to guess.

My only guy moved was Shattenkirk. He has been having a potentially career season in St. Louis, so hopefully the move to the Caps has a positive effect rather than a disruptive one. The Caps have a pretty great blue line right now though! Shattenkirk, Carlson, Alzner, Orlov, Niskanen and Orpik.
I was really hoping for the Flames to get Landeskog, oh well.
I thought the rumour of Giroux to Montreal was pretty good too. Would love to see that!

JGHL: Not sure moving to Montreal will change much for King but I guess there is the chance that he takes off with a new team.
NHL: I really like the Lazar trade. I don't think he will ever be a big (or even a top 6) scorer but I think he will be a very solid role player and hopefully can fit long term on the 3rd line, moving up if needed due to injuries. That said if Ferland can score with the top line no reason that a much more talented Lazar couldn't have success there while taking away some of the "heavy lifting" from Gaudreau and Monahan. Not technically trade deadline but also really liked the addition of Michael Stone as well.

Ferland has been good lately so I hope the Flames don't automatically give Lazar the RW spot beside Monahan!

Ferland has been good lately so I hope the Flames don't automatically give Lazar the RW spot beside Monahan! I am not a fan (but I know I am in the vast majority as Ferland is a fan favorite based on about 5 minutes of mediocre play in the play-offs). I think a few fluke goals doesn't change the fact that the two years before Lazar has put up better numbers despite being younger. I know many, including Flames brass, keep talking about this great potential of Ferland but the numbers and play on the ice don't show it at all. He is a plug that fans want so bad to turn out that they are willing to ignore what is right in front of their faces. But as mentioned he is also a favorite of the organization so I think he will keep getting handed minutes despite doing nothing at all to deserve it. Hopefully Lazar does great despite not being gifted gravy minutes like Ferland. I think he is talented enough to succeed without having to be propped up!

Ferland has earned his minutes lately on the top line, in my opinion (you clearly disagree). That opinion is not based on some playoff games a couple of years ago. I was just saying I don't want Lazar to be gifted time on the first line. Lazar is coming in with one point this season. IMO he should have to out play Ferland to displace him from Monahan's line.

Ferland has been good lately so I hope the Flames don't automatically give Lazar the RW spot beside Monahan! Thinking Lazar should not get first lines minutes on any team, probably not even 2nd line. He has not done anything at all. Ferland is not first line guy but no matter what line he is on lazar should need to prove him. I like Ferland because unlike a lot of these young players that come into league, he goes hard with what he got while a lot of these guys come in with can;t miss by so many to only not show up on the ice everyday.

Had Ferland, liked his grit and untapped offensive upside. Moved him to Ron in the Nielsen deal, so glad to see he's doing well. Who wants Nielsen, he's on fire. Wrong thread sorry..

I agree about Lazar not being handed 1st line minutes, I prefer to see him at center with Bennett and Brouwer, move Versteeg back up to the top line with Monahan and Gaudreau (or just trade Gaudreau altogether but that is a whole other can of worms and I have already taken this thread off topic enough as it is!)
