Pretty happy picking up Jake Dotchin. Playing on TB 1st line with Hedman as his partner. Plus you got him for reasonable contract, so many are so high for not doing much and a lot of them become regrets a season or two later. Nice job Ray! As usual, I do not make offers after initial bid as bids are way too high for me.

I knew there would be at least one 4.5-5.5 bid on him, so had to up the bid. Not only am i a huge fan of his game, but also badly need more top pairing Dmen so had to make sure he didn't slip by 500k-1M. That said, yes I potentially could really regret this bid lol. But if he ends up as a 70-72 this year, don't mind that at all.

That is one that you have to take shot at as he has lots of upside but like Panarin, down line you may need to move him due to cap......but I am really talking about droppping 3 mil on kid that had a couple of good games then drops out of sight!

I'd rather have Leblanc or Zaitsev for the money they got, than Dotchin at 1.75. The former two are better bets to be impact players IMO.

Yeah I can see that, but just not my thing to pay that much and be stuck later on, once league catches up with these guys and see if they continue to play at high level. That is my concern which is why I do not pay the extra 2nd round for unassigned. Just a choice I make for my team! Would not pay the 1.7 , 3 mil or 6 mil, but works for others sometimes!

Who is this Leblanc kid Sharks scouts speak of? ; ) As for Labanc, I wouldn't have given him a nickel over 3 million. *** Aside: I remember Mark Edwards (head of HockeyProspect.com) - they were super high on Dotchin in his draft year, and I could not figure out why as compared to other scouting reports I was reading. They went so far as rating him in the 1st rnd (Top 30 at the time). While he may not be the glamourous point-producer, think they were obviously on to something, and you need these solid-as-a-rock dmen to win. He's definitely more valuable in sim leagues like this where DF, etc. so key Vs regular fantasy leagues.

That's exactly why I decided to give Michal Kempny 4.5 mil. On the Hawks 3rd pairing, he should get plenty of solid, hard as a rock, stay at your casa D time. I also plan to obtain every player on team Czech republic.
