Bolts with an early lucky break in the draft with Miro falling to 6th overall.

From a slightly falling Dman, to back-to-back "off the board" picks, though both picks make sense to moi. ; ) This is the earliest a goalie has went off the board in quite some time in the J.

With the first pick of beer fridays at the office, Eugene selects, from Zoeterwoude, Netherlands, and the local LCBO, an ice cold Heineken Lager can.

I think teams are sleeping on Rasmussen, watched him play in preseason for the Red wings and he has a lot of promise.

That's what I love about the draft.. one man's garbage is another man's treasure right? Never know who's going to fall to you and maybe if someone values him more.. than they'll trade a lot of value for your pick? Who knows. Very fun thus far!

I'm always surprised by the movement of selections in the J. Really surprised to see that goalie jump so many spots. I personally hate drafting goalies, they take ages to develop and even the top end prospects end up massive question marks. I find the best NHL goalies come outta "no-where", like Scott Darling or Ed Belfour....yeah know, instead of...Rick DiPietro.

Don't remember the last time a drafted goalie broke out, let alone a 1st or 2nd rounder. Seriously I can't even name one. Gibson? Probably.

Pick was made before I took over the team but Holtby was drafted in the 4th by the previous administration.
