I got a 300 water filter and 5 food safe buckets to store tap and have lived off grid before, I’m excited, it’s my element. Though what not excited about is the thousands of dollars of food at the three cafes I manage if they happen to lose power for an extended amount of time. Your in Richmond? Hopefully by time it gets there, winds be in 30s but rain that is different story. We are expecting anywhere between 12 inches to 2 feet of rain. Can only hope weather people keep their regular batting average and be wrong and hoping for a turn north. Many people living in trailers all around NC and down east there will be major flooding. be safe pal and hope your cafes do not lose power! I am, born and raised here, have spent all but 5 of 32 years of existence here so I have seen all the weather the city has to offer. I am most worried about the trees, its been a super wet summer overall so even 30MPH winds are gonna cause problems if they are consistent enough. Even with now predicted more southern track we are still looking at sustained 40MPH winds.

Yeah we are only getting 10 5 to 10 inches as of now but no one knows where it is going whether little further south or north. Wait and see and be prepared. Stay safe man!

So crazy. I knew it was bad, but didn't realize had potential to be worst ever!
North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper on Hurricane Florence: “This storm is a monster. It’s big and it’s vicious. It is an extremely dangerous, life-threatening, historic hurricane… Don’t bet your life on riding out a monster.”

Meanwhile in Canada, snow in the forecast for Thursday
Be well and stay safe, fellas

Oh my this looks like a mean one. I'm sure it'll mess up the weather for all of east coast for the next 2 weeks. Stay safe and ready my US east coasters. You're all in my thoughts.

Great to see Coach & Graham (NYR) logged on. Any updates on Florence?

This is a crazy scary graphic - can start watching the graphic at 50 second mark: It is sunny, I am at HS football game helping team. Nice now, starting tomorrow night maybe not, we will see, right now it was hover on coast and head south a lil, but be around for day, now running thru ScGA and western nc but cost will take a beating, almost all state will get some of it

How are all the east coast brethrens holding up? Haven't caught much news the last few days so hoping everyone is safe and sheltered! Good here where I live, but eastern part of state under water and mid and western part got to worry about flooding. As it will rain another day or so. 14 dead so far from storm. Going to take awhile to recover in large part if state. I live up hill so flooding not issue. Thanks for asking Eug!
