For Immediate Release
The future seems bright but the present is still quiet for the Rangers. After standing pat and still finishing top 10 in the league last season the Rangers appear ready to more of the same. After losing most top contributors from last season to retirement and free agency the Rangers signed a handful of warm body veterans as the slow rebuild continues. It appears the Rangers GM is ready to ride his team to mediocrity another year as prospects develop, hoping to be higher in the pecking order next draft. Despite this the Rangers still they feel they are on the up and up. with up to 6 more years of control of Holtby and continuing progress of Linus Ullmark the hope the goaltending will not be an issue for the foreseeable future, allowing the Rangers to focus on developing skaters.
The future does look bright despite the lack of a true blue chip prospect. The last few drafts have seen the Rangers stock up on offensive potential with the likes of Klim Kostin, Shane Bower, Rasmus Kupari and many more. The same can be said on defense with last years 1st rounder Jusso valimaki making his NHL debut and prized 3rd rounder Adam Fox compiling 8 points in 3 games played in NCAA.
NHL FORWARDS
The center depth is beginning to emerge in the big apple, with top 3 centers, Johansen, Trocheck and Danault all 25 years of age they hope to be set for the foreseeable future. Veteran center Kyle Brodziak was brought in on a 3 year deal over the off season to round out the 4th line and add valuable PK minutes. The Rangers brought three veterans to contribute big minutes on the wings, the hope is Trocheck-Steen can become a duo and the same for Johansen-Nash. Justin Williams and rookie free agent Alexander Kerfoot will round out the top 6.
Alexander Steen - Vincent Trocheck - Justin Williams
Alexander Kerfoot - Ryan Johansen - Rick Nash
Miles Wood - Phillip Danault - Devin Shore
Scott Hartnell - Kyle Brodiak - Marian Gaborik
Top 5 F Prospects
