Is the deadline extended? I looked at the schedule and thought it was on Wednesday. Living in Hawaii messes with my sense of time

I think Monty cleaned up by only giving up a few major pieces fir whole bunch of 74 and up guys. Moves to top for JGHL Cup as favorite. Agreed! Jets Aaron did some cool work as well.

Friendly suggestion: Lets make the deadline midnight or at least 10pm next year. 5pm is when everyone is finishing up work or commuting if they have to

My trades are consistently criticized despite the fact that I am one of the most active and kind hearted people on this forum. I'm not the grumpy old fuck who is complaining about every player or trade, and these backhanded comments don't create an environment where I even want to check the forums to be completely honest. The trade gives me cap flexibility to rebuild my team for the next couple of years and a proven 40 goal scorer to pair up with Mackinnon for the next 10 years. Kane after this year has 2 years left on an overpriced contract where I don't plan on being competitive and I don't really see Bjorkstrand having as high of ratings as he did this year for the rest of his career. I went for the player who I felt had the most value for the team going forward. Just because he went to the guy challenging you for the Cup isn't my problem. Everyone had the same amount of opportunity to ask me about Patrick Kane.

I didn't see much point myself in trying to upgrade, I'm not competitive enough to wanna sell the house so it didn't make much sense to trade, plus I can never seem to land the kinda deals required to be that competitive...I tried to upgrade 1 player, that was overpaid in contract terms, will be getting a significant rating downgrade next year and is a UFA in 3 years (and probably rated even worse by then) for a handful of prospects from a team that wanted to sell sell sell...couldn't so much as get talks started as I was basically hard no'ed right out the gate, its hard to find the energy for trade talks when people won't even talk to you unless you are offering up Dahlin and Zibanejad, yet every year someone gets those insane trades that completely transforms their team, it feels rather impossible to compete against.
There are many times when I wish the league rewarded scouting and drafting and not just who you can find to give you that killer deal. The number of teams that have remained very competitive despite nearly never drafting a single player attests to this fact pretty clearly. Nobody will ever agree with me, but allowing these huge shifts of team power via trades that would never happen in the NHL for many reasons, the least of which is the skill of the players involved, bores me to no end. If I had my way, we'd start to change things to limit the effectiveness of trading, and I have a few ideas, but nobody will ever agree to having their hands tied even a tiny bit, so its all moot anyway.
Since I happen to be posting after Mike, I just wanna be clear that I think the Kane deal was fine. Debrincat is a fantastic player, he'll even be an Alternate Captain on the Hawks this year, kid is smart, skilled, and still very young, scoring him for Kaner with 2 years left before UFA seems pretty darn fair IMO, certainly more fair than some other trades both this year and in years past. If I'm not fighting for a cup, thats a trade I'd make easily. Bjorkstrand may have an 80 SC, but his other stats are pretty MEH, maybe a 3rd is low for him, maybe that was to balance the age difference between Kane and Cat, I dunno, but overall that trade was quite reasonable IMO.

I think talking trades is a part I enjoy most. If I had time to study draftees but I don't but if trading was changed too much then that would be big part of league. I would not liked changed.. Yeah we. Are not NHL but its been lots of fun all these years but be honest I made trades with most but it is the usual suspects who are willing to talk trade. Win some tades, loss many trades but still have fun, win or lose. I had competitive years and many mediocre but if i get chance togodeeper in playoffs I'll make trades. This season been fun but needed more scoring so I go make move and take chance. Still think strong on d side maybe lil stronger and hoping O lil better. Or moves just took my team the other way and out in first round. That is what is great about league.

I simply stated what transpired (did I say something that wasn't true?) and inferred that it's hard to compete with that.
