The Red Wings roll in to the 20-21 season with a renewed passion and optimism. Its been a long while since i've been this excited heading into the season. Jakub Vrana Sean Monahan Tyler Toffoli Roope Hintz Paul Stastny Andre Burakovsky Andrew Mangiapane Luke Kunin Victor OlofssonJacob De La Rose Paul Stastny Andreas Johnsson Duncan Keith Adam Pelech Alec Martinez Jakob Chychryn Rasmus Sandin Travis Dermott Sergei BobrovskyThatcher Demko With some key new additions the Red Wings are primed for a good year and still trending upward after "3 seasons" of rebuilding. Forwards The additions of Monahan and Stastny shore up our C depth and and add to a top 9 that if packed with great offensive ability. The bottom six is filed with some decent offensive guys, but mainly focused on defensive play. Defense Certainly the weak spot on this squad, the addition of Duncan Keith brings some much needed offense to a back end full of defense first rearguards. With a good mix of young guns and vets, this could be great step forward year for a few of Detroit's young Defenders. Goalies The addition of Officer Bobrovsky will definitely improve what would have been another season of young, sub-par goaltending. Demko is working his way up and will be a starter in no time, but the acquisition of Bob creates a great transition for when Demko is ready to take the reigns. Top Prospects The strength of this Red Wings team is in its prospect pool. With pleasant surprises like Nils Hoglander, Eeli Tolvanen and Rudlofs Balcers and top prospects Bowen Byram, Jack Rathbone and Cayden Primeau. Those along with 4 picks in the first two rounds will continue to build on a solid foundation for the future.
