I didnt vote one way or the other, like I said, cause I wanted to hear your rationale for accepting this deal. To me it seems like a very small return on a guy who is already good, and can be signed to a 4 year extension this offseason. I just wanted to know if maybe there were some facts I was missing, cause it didnt seem like a good deal to me.

Love the trade Jon. Perfect value for Pomminville- Mueller is heating up, Kreider is looking like he's gonna pan out and Lehner is the goalie of the future for the Sens. Solid trade

How many times do we have to see this happen before we get it right? Why didn't you tell me that Chicago's 4th round pick in 2010 was available? I'd have offered way better than what you got. It's soooooo not fair to the rest of the league when trades are made without the principals being made available to the rest of the league.

In looking at trades, I noticed the same core teams do most of the trading and some team hardly ever or never. I guess some GM;s are happy with the direction their team is goin now and in future.

Its been like that for awhile Ron.
Its either teams want too much, teams refuse to give up anything decent, or people don't feel like trading.
I don't see why you wouldn't trade at ALL as you can always find ways to improve, its just what direction you wanna go.
The only "problem" is that too many people try too hard to fleece another GM and get the lowest bid they can rather than give up appropriate value. I look to the NHL as my example for trading, for example when I traded up for Tavares. The offer I gave was equal to what you'd see in the NHL and nobody else in the league was even CLOSE to my offer. I haven't regretted it for a second.
Now if my players would just stop taking concussions. I'd be set.

I think the lack of trading has a lot to do with GMs getting smarter, and more experienced. My first couple years here I got fleeced several times. Now I think through all my trades very carefully! But, since I'm always contacting other GMs, I still find deals that help me out. There are always ways to improve your team through trading, but you have to put in the work!
