Just a reminder, we don't do the "matched" thing anymore, that was a few seasons back...
Ways To Re-sign Your Own Group 2 RFAs: 1. You place THE initial offer on your player with contract years, no less than their current salary. In two days if there are no further bids and the player closes, then he is yours.
2. You place THE initial offer on your player with contract years, no less than their current salary. Another GM places a higher offer on your player. In two days if there are no further bids and the player closes, then you will have the option to match the offer or take compensation. There is no reason to re-bid on your own player, as you will have the option to match the highest bid once the player closes.
3. Another GM places THE initial bid on your RFA, if in 2 days there are no more bids and the player closes, you will then have the option to match the current offer *(at 90%, but no less than their current salary) or take compensation.
4. You and/or no other GM places a bid on your player. At the end of free agency we will ask you if you would like to re-sign that player or let them go to unassigned @ 75% their current salary, no less than 500k.

He pleads tempory insanity. Thinkin with emotions ;D It just screwed a bunch of stuff up. Both Stl and Minny thought that because Monty said "match" that they now had that money to spend again and went and bid on other players with money and compensation that they don't have.

We do not do the "match" thing while in bidding, this hasn't been done for several seasons now.

As far as I'm concerned the bids they went on to make are void until the official match happens.

By Monty incorrectly saying "match" two other teams thought they had money back and went on to bid on other players with it.

Yeah, my bid on Lundqvist is no longer valid...not happy about it, but I should have realized that Monty couldn't match for two days and that I couldn't bid on another RFA. My mistake as well...

I think we can all agree that it is just me to blame. I was pissed at you two for driving up those salaries when I was obviously going to match, wasnt thinking. I hope the irony of me asking about putting in penalties for improper bids yesterday isnt lost on anyone. Man im an idoit. SOOOOORRRY GUYS
