What I really mean is has anyone's backup played less than 20 minutes? C'mon Phil. Actually Darren, in Phil's defense (since he's too shy to respond), the question mark was placed after the sentence that asked if anyone's starting goalie had played more minutes than Miller? He responded appropriately. Case closed.

Hedberg's back up has only played 34 minutes, but Dallas has played 6 more games than Edmonton.

Too lazy to look. Has anyone's starting goalie played more than Ryan Miller for me? Tuukka Rask has played 20 minutes this year. Do you guys think I should adjust the settings so that goalies will get tired quicker and you will be forced to play your backup more often?

No, if you give up alot of shots they tire pretty fast, alot of tired goalies are used anyway.

Mason gets tired even when he is 100, which is why he has so many games where he gives up 3 or 4 goal in 14 to 18 shots...... I have to rest him even when he is 100.

Yeah it's based on shots faced and if the game goes in OT or not. So basically if you have a strong defense, your goalie shouldn't get tired very easily. Jon it's up to you, but would this be imminent or for next season? Btw Kipper's backup Curry - 12 minutes played

Ya, I think it's kind of ridiculous that a lot of teams can play their goalies for 75+ games. On my team, Turco is on pace for about that.

NHL teams don't play 3 days in a row or 4 games in 5 days, some of us would not have a prayer under those conditions if you make an adjustment.

i think its tough to gauge. We shouldnt be able to play our goalies for 82 games, but if theyre tired after every game its going to be a problem. First thing taht came to mind to me is to have a games played cap based on the DU rating, but not changing anything else. Problem is im asuming there is no way to automatically track this stuff without a ton of extra work.
so i dunno, but i dont want my goalie getting tired after every game...

Maybe a change after the year or something. Teams like Edmonton, Anaheim and Minnesota have yet to play their 40th game. I have nine games in hand on Vancouver and Minnesota has 11. They are 11 points back and could catch them. I'm guessing their schedule would be pretty compressed and a goalie change would hurt them and any other team that hasn't played a ton.
Obviously this is just a random thing with the schedule.
The other argument against, is if goalie's get tired more often, and as a result injured from fatigue, with some of our work and life schedules, I would bet we'd see some strikes piling up pretty quickly. Yes, yes, if you don't have the time, don't be in the league, but I'm just being realistic.
The best solution is obviously for everyone in the league to send me $20 via paypal.

Yeah, that would be a big pain. IF a rule was ever to be put in place then it would have to be across the board, not based on individual DU ratings. Something like a teams backup(s) must play a minimum of 15 games or at least 900 minutes. If with 15 games left in your season if you haven't played your backup then you're riding him to the end, so you'd have to make sure to get him some playing time during the season. Or something like that.....
