wow what a season. Great job by jake, reminding us that its not all about the goaltending. Sometimes putting together a few serious scoring lines is just what the doctor ordered and of course J and G, this HL is awesome, and it wouldnt be here without u guys I have to agree with Shawn on this, I picked vokoun over Turco, but with top scoring line like Jake had, it did exactly what he set out to do and that was win it all. Also agree about Jon and Gavin....another fantastic job guys! You guys make it seem like he was running with Garon or something lol Sure Vokoun is better rated than Turco, but @ 71 Turco isn't exactly a slouch. It was a great series, and I hate to be the one to say it but San Jose had the better team top to bottom. And as someone else noted, quite possibly the best iced team in our leagues history.

I think this years finals was one of the closest series ever. Every single game was essentially a 1 goal game (the two games with two goal differentials both had empty netters).
My comments on the goalies:
The difference between a goalies with a 90% svpct and a 92% svpct is not very much... the 90% goalie will let in 2 more goals per 100 shots (e.g. 2 more goals every 3-4 games). I think the key for goalies is consistency. While Turco didn't win my team many games during the playoffs, he was very consistent and didn't lose me many either. The only game he lost me was when he gave up 4 goals on 10 shots against the Oilers (lost 5-4 in OT). Other than that games, he usually saved about 90% of the shots against (with some variation of course, but not much). If there was an MVP on my team I think it was Turco.
Anyways, here are some stats on my team round by round... I thought they were pretty interesting.
GP-G-A
Round #1 #2 #3 #4 Player Line #1 Stamkos 5-1-3 6-3-1 7-6-1 7-2-2 St. Louis 5-3-1 6-0-3 7-1-4 7-0-5 Heatley 5-0-3 6-1-3 7-1-5 7-0-2 Lidstrom 5-0-0 6-1-2 7-1-3 7-2-4 Seidenberg 5-0-0 6-1-2 7-1-0 7-0-0 Line#2 Staal 5-2-2 6-2-3 7-1-2 7-2-2 Burrows 5-1-2 6-2-1 7-0-2 7-1-1 Parise 5-4-1 6-3-2 7-2-1 7-2-1 Pitkanen 5-0-4 6-0-3 7-0-2 7-0-0 Beauch 5-0-2 6-0-1 7-0-2 7-0-1 Line #3 Belanger 5-0-1 6-0-1 7-2-2 7-2-3 Wolski 5-4-1 6-0-1 7-0-2 7-3-4 Lupul 5-1-3 6-2-0 7-1-2 7-3-2 Quincey 5-0-4 6-1-1 7-0-2 7-1-2 Tyutin 5-0-2 6-0-1 7-0-1 7-0-3 Line #4 Tavares 5-0-0 6-0-1 7-0-3 7-2-2
I probably made a few errors, but this gives you an idea of how my run went.
I didn't win because my top scorers took me to the final... it was all depth. My third line was actually my best line in the finals, and scored 3 out of 4 series winners.
Edit: Well that didn't display too well... anyways here's a summary
#1 SJ vs. Blues: Line #2 was the best (7 goals), but all lines chipped in (line #1 - 4 goals; line #3 - 5 goals) . #2 SJ vs. Canucks: Line #2 was the best (7 goals), but line #1 was good too (6 goals). Line #3 had 3 goals.
#3 SJ vs. Oilers: Line #1 was the best (9 goals), but others still chipped in (line #2 - 3 goals, line #3 - 5 goals). Stamkos had 6 goals in 7 games.
#4: SJ vs. Leafs: Line #3 was the best by far (9 goals). Belanger scores game winner in game #7. Tavares (line #4) had 4 points in 7 games, including 2 in game 7. Line #1 had 4 goals, line #2 had 5 goals.

Top to bottom the best, but based on Turco in sims, he was always below par. He had greatness in front of him which was the difference, like Sharky said, he just didn't have to lose games for him which he did. Did nothing great, just steady....great teams carried goalies alot of times in this league!

Congrads on winning GM of the year Jake. You are the 1st GM to win that award twice.

Thanks for GM of the year award guys! There were many other GMs in this league that could have been chosen, and it is a huge complement to be chosen out of such a great group of people.
Stuck in Anchorage for the last couple of days due to weather in Kodiak. Should be gone in a few hours though! Beautiful city to get stuck in.
