Wow, not a single comment on the trade between Vancouver and myself?? I paid too much, I gave up too little, I have the best core 4 of D ever assembled in the league.....nothing?

Funny, I just jumped on to comment, lol.
Hell of a deal. Pretty solid value for Weber, maybe a tad on the low side, but fairly balanced. Weber is certainly being properly paid, so that helps to balance things out a bit.

well you definitely have a good defensive Core Adam, thats for sure....
I liked the trade on both ends... it gave you what you needed, and Vancouver got a pretty good return.... well done to both of you

I think that was a pretty good deal for Weber. I think Vancouver should have tried to get at least one established player back, but it wasn't bad value. Just different strategies. Wish I still had him on my team... IMO we've seen better D's in the leagues history but it is obviously still really really good.

Wow.
Sharky improves a LOT with this deal. Kevin not so much. Don't really see the benefit of this trade from Kevin's perspective.

Anytime you can dump 10-mil get rid of a ufa who's not performing for 2 RFA's for the future, plus definetly could impact his lines with the 2 for 1 deal now. I think the opportunity of a trade like that presents it self to Jake cause he can afford it. JMO I think a win- win. You would see more deals like that if the funds are there.

It's definitely a good deal for the Sharks, but I can definitely see what Kevin was doing. A 34-year old, 10-million dollar player with almost three years left on his contract is a bit of a luxury for a team trying to rebuild (see Datsyuk, Pavel : - especially when that team is right up against the cap. This deal gives Florida more flexibility. A short term win for the Sharks, but good for both in the big picture.

I could be wrong bit I think this is the 7th time Kevin has had Hemsky on his roster. Hahahaha...2nd time you jerk. Bottom line, i needed to change things up. Hemsky offers me a bit more passing, cap flexibility and is younger. Bailey can be a very productive two way forward. When i made the deal the last time around for San Jose, it was to get more scoring with Burrows and Lupul (who i thought would come back, but not this strong)... now in having all four.. i hope that we can get the best of both worlds, but I'm not finished dealing....

i dont know how this doent make sense to people. obviously we would have liked to see a little more go back for such an established player, but it seems kev wanted to make a deal. seems fine for both tams even if Jake got a little more
Its a loss for our cap system but whatever, spending has improved so much i really shouldnt complain.

Did you guys notice if you take the word pi out of opinion it spells onion? Could you imagine an onion pie? Holy shit would that be awful. And I like onions. Maybe an onion ring pie with onion rings from A&W. That could be good. Maybe just use the onion ring outside as the crust. I had tourtiere for supper the other night. That's a pie with meat in it! I get a meatrection just thinking about it. Pi is 3.14. I don't know how to work that into this.

I couldn't even finish Darrens post lol.
Honestly I was on the fence with this trade because I'm now on the hook for Iginla's 10 million dollar contract for the next 3 years. As a Flames fan, Iginla has me worried right now too.

Could i have gotten more? i dont know... if i had held on until the deadline... most likely.
Not many teams are seeing his worth so much BECAUSE he will be a UFA at the end of his deal... not too many ppl wanted to pay that price.. and for the return, I think i got what the market dictated.
Jake takes a chance on Iginla who hasnt been lights out.. but if he gets his form back he'll be fine...
