I think the low end might be somewhat of an anomaly with the shortened season combined with the GP penlaty, which gave a bunch of 50's in some categories.

What was the highest OV last year? Lowest? What was the league average?
What are those numbers this year?
I believe the highest last year was Stamkos at 74. This year its Crosby at 76.
Wheeler's OV seems high to me. He got some excellent numbers, but 72? I feel like those ratings would have been more like a 70 last year <shrug>

Crosby probably deserves the higher OV rating. He had a spectacular season.
I don't mind the difference. I don't think it matters, the individual attributes are still the most important. Like Jon said, it may have something to do with the shortened season. I don't think any adjustments are needed for this year.

I'm pretty sure they are talkin about possible adjustments for next year Jake. No more needed this season.

Some stuff is hard to compare, but everything I've looked at in Jake's ratings is pretty damn consistent with how NAIHL was rating categories. There is no way to see OV averages, but here are the ratings from last season and this season... www.jghl.net/1213ratings.htmlwww.jghl.net/1314ratings.htmlObviously ignore goalies.

I skimmed through the current and last year's, and it does look like the OVs are a product of last year being shortened. Guys have higher EN and DU due to the missed games penalty being lower, so that raises the average. Looks pretty consistent otherwise like Jon said.

Just comparing the two shows there is an obviously uptick of OV by 1-2 points among the top half of the league, its actually more apparent among the bottom half, where the OV shot up about 4-6. I'm willing to attribute it to the shortened season and move on, but its just something to be aware of moving forward.

well, if this truly is an issue it should be addressed so as to not unfairly handicap GMs with RFAs this year...

The GP penalty is still the same (I'm pretty sure) as last year. What I meant was, compounded with the fact of the shortened season and players having less opportunity to come back and play games, guys that would have already been rated low will be even lower because they are getting the 70% hit. Then again I'm kinda stoned right now, so that all could just be a bunch of nonsense lol. EN/DU is probably higher because it was realized that they actually had it backwards last year, so Jake adjusted everything and actually made it right. If you don't think Wheeler (with his current ratings) deserves to be paid as a tier 4 player (based on ratings to salary bracket) you be crazy!

After looking some stuff over I will agree that OV may be up by like 1pt., maybe 1.5pts but since there aren't halves we'll just call it 1. I really think it's due to the same reason that some of the low OV are slightly lower, because of the shortened season.
When we pro-rate stats it doesn't take into account any human-factor, so the math might give higher numbers in some stats than would regularly be if the entire 82 games were actually played out. Just because a player averages 28mins of ice-time through 48-games doesn't mean he would average 28mins through 82-games, but the math says he does.
So while some stuff was easy to tune in because it's based on only one stat (like G or A) I think some attributes are slightly higher because the combined stats to make that attribute are slightly higher, based on pro-rating.

So far it looks like we'll need 1 definite GM replacement (Wpg) and possibly one more if a specific GM doesn't respond by Friday. So as always, before I go looking I'd like to see if anyone has someone they'd like to bring in. It just makes things a lot easier for me and also helps the new guy out if he actually knows people. So hit me up ASAP if you think you can help!

Trading, player dropping etc... will open after I update the unassigned list and establish the entry draft order. However at the moment I am having a small issue with the entry draft so I'm waiting on Simon to get back to me. I also want a few days for everyone to make sure their teams are correct before players start flying all over the league. It should only be a few days before everything opens up. When should we pre-pair/send in player position changes? No rush, I'm just wondering if it's still the same as last year with multiple positions for a player. AND should we download a new STHS Client-V2.8 again for any new updates?

And from an earlier post... A new league file has been uploaded, but everyone also needs to upgrade their editor. You can get it from the link below or on the league website. www.jghl.net/STHSClient-V2.2.1.exe

Ok, all GMs are accounted for but still need to find a replacement for Wpg. Also waiting to hear back from Simon on an issue I'm having running the lottery. As soon as that is squared away we will open everything up!
