Really, the bottom line is Adam had the ability to use his re-sign on Spezza. It should have been fairly obvious he'd get a hit (he might even get another one, he's still cheap). Its not the fault of the compensation system.

I would be amazed if he goes that cheap, and comes off the board by Weds.

On another note, Calgary informed me today that one of his players was not on the board for bidding. If you happen to notice that one of your RFAs does not have their own thread then please let me know asap!

I certainly didn't bid on Spezza to be a dick. How am I to know if you will pay $4 million for a guy that won't help you this year? I guess I also wont bid on any UFA you are since you have enough cap room to outbid me? Really you shouldn't take it personally. I am trying to make moves to help my team.

Blues will get credit for the first noticed boo - boo - with a 50,000 bid on Brewer. Removed by Staff.

Calgary's posted first and is therefore the valid bid...but it wasn't Gary's fault. They actually did this exact same thing on McKenzie as well, same exact minute bids....kinda strange really. Two players, two bids, same teams involved, both happen at the same moment on each player...crazy. McKenzie's bid was corrected, Brewer's has been deleted.

If real life Pascal Dupuis heard how much he's going to be making this season, he would demand arbitration. Wowzers.

Pretty sure Dupuis is the most shocking 10 mil player we've ever had.

Pretty sure Dupuis is the most shocking 10 mil player we've ever had. This is precisely why I go back to my stance in years gone by that a FA should be awarded to the team based on the totality of the contract. For instance, Team A bids 1 yr @ 10 mil per yr Team B bids 3 yrs at 7 mil per yr Team B 21 mil versus 10 mil and wins the player. I know the argument will be but a team could also offer 3 yrs at 4 mil per yr and beat team A, but I think this scenario would never occur. My 20 pesos.
