Seems like a quiet deadline, a lot of the deals got done during the week.

There were about 6 decent sized trades from last night and today, definitely more action than the NHL

Hahahaha
It was a pretty boring deadline this year...

Not sure I understand the Alzner trade. Seems like a pretty low return on a proven Dman.

Now that all the dust has settled it really seems like this year more than any in the past is wide open for the cup. A lot of powerhouse teams added big pieces, should be fun!

Totally agree Jon! Both conferences should see dog fights in the playoffs. In the West, both Sharks and Canucks look the strongest post deadline, with the Blues being a dark horse candidate. East will be fun too with a number of teams improving and looking to go all the way. I'm personally worried about facing the Rangers, who similar to the Blues have x factors (Holtby, Price) to win any series.

Calgary did pretty damn well at the deadline... sent out Larsson and gets an elite blue chipper in Rantanen back, then brings Alzner in for a couple of middle prospects. Basically no major change on D, but ends up with one of the best RW prospects in the game. Rantanen is ripping up the AHL right now as a 19 year old.
Looking forward to the playoffs. Every contending team got quite a bit stronger and deeper on paper.

It was cool to see every member log in during this last week. One of the new GM's ask me a few weeks back if we did indeed have 26 members. LOL Yes we do. We think we helped ourselves going into the playoffs, with the pick-ups of Eakin - Ellis - Vrbata.

It was so hard to let him go, and I will always question myself, but it became clear that he was my only prospect that would gonna fetch a decent return.

^Admittedly found it tough to deal Larsson. Hadn't planned on it. You guys kept tempting me with prospects. Like offering narcotics to an addict...lol
