Well it looks like some of you finally get your wish, Rob (Pit) is out! I've e-mailed him 3 times since the 1st of the month and and have not received a reply. He also hasn't logged in for about 2 weeks now so it's obvious he's ignoring my e-mails and just doesn't care anymore. I've stuck up for him way too many times, chased him down for the last time and the benefit of the doubt has finally run out.
Rob, if you read this I just want to say thank you. After 10+ years of providing this service to you absolutely free I sincerely appreciate your complete lack of common courtesy and mutual respect for myself and everyone else in the league.
With that being said, what to do next? Do I reinstate a strike system and a login requirement? It would be a sad day in the JGHL if I have to put in rules just to get people to meet the absolute bare minimum participation requirements, but I don't know what else to do.
For a while now it seems like I've been running this league for about 10 of us which doesn't really make me too happy. I've spent over 10 hours doing tutorials and learning code the last few days trying to figure out how to put a new website together for the new output pages and for what? For people to continue to do the least they possibly have to?
Maybe it's time to start a new league with the people who actually like to participate and be involved and then bring in all new blood. This is absolutely the last thing I want to do but I'm not going to continue how it is until it all eventually just fades to nothing, that's definitely not what I want.
There are GMs who don't log in for weeks at a time, don't send in lines, never post on the board, never trade and never answer PMs, I mean seriously what's the point of even being here? Honestly I can't remember the last time we had to replace 3 GMs in a season.
So I don't know anymore, you 10 guys chime in and let me know what you think and how we should go forward because it certainly can't keep going the way it currently is, that's for damn sure.

Hey, you know I'm in favor of a reboot and redraft, have been for awhile. I know people cling to their rosters pretty tightly at times, but a reboot after this many years feels sorta inevitable

Hey Jon,
I just would like to say that I am not sure if I am one of the ten, but I do try my best...
I know that I do not send in line all the time, but sometimes it is because I want a little shake-up and having you do an auto on my lines changes things around; other times, I completely forget about it and some times I am just to busy. I know that all of that is not an excuse, and I will be the first to admit that I should do more...
But with that said, I will respect what ever decision you take, and I can only hope that if there is a new league, that I can be part of it. You guys are a great bunch, and it is a fun league; I enjoy being part of it, even though I rarely chime in on some of the topics...
Thanks for everything...

There are about 5 gm's that I won't bother to even pm for a trade cause they are never around. Some guys only seem to Log in during the week and never on the week-end as well. I'm sure trading will pick up when we are a little deeper in to the NHL season. From what I've seen most are doing their lines of late. I would like to see more GM'S on board though, and maybe we need to force gm's to log in, imo that's what hurts the league, it's been the same guys year after year, if you don't log in your support is questionable. I rather get rid of 5 guys then punish the other 19. JMO

I'm not sure I I'm one of the GMs not involved enough I'm on here everyday though so I feel I am very involved. Personally I would live the idea of a reboot and redraft of course my vote is a bit biased cause of the team I was left with after the last GM.

With the way I've been developing my team the last few seasons, trust me, I'm the LAST person that would want a re-boot. But honestly over the last 2-3 seasons there has become such a lull that it seems other than a select few, that people are just going through the motions. I know it's not going to be as fresh, new and exciting in season 13 as it was when we first started, but it's just gotten to such a stale point that "something" has to be done. What that is I don't know, that's why I'd like to hear what others have to say. Al, it was more of a generalization than me literally counting 10 GMs, but no, I was not referring to you at all, you'd be in my 10 And of course Det and NYI excluded from my rant as well.

I'm for expansion. Not for a re-boot whatsoever. I believe trading will pick up when player values go up. It's a bit early yet. Would like to see more guys stick around when they log in. Not this bullshit, I logged in now I'm good for 2 more weeks.

I am up for whatever is best for the league.
Obviously it would be a little frustrating for me starting over after taking my team down to the bare bones the last two seasons but I want to have as much enjoyment as possible in the league and if we need to make changes lets do it.
I do understand not making a ton of line changes if guys aren't injured/the lines don't need to be autoed but having issues that are repeatedly coming up and not fixing them is a major issue in my view.
i understand that real life takes over and we all run into times where we miss things here but I think it becomes pretty apparent (like with Pittsburgh) where it isn't a tough stretch and a real issue with not participating in the league.
I know that people like their teams and often have put a ton of effort into them so they don't want to give them up but I would rather lose GM's (potentially good ones) if they don't have the time to commit to the league properly. Submitting lines, voting on trades and responding to PM's/trade proposals should the the bare minimum for a GM.
As for the short term with Pittsburgh if you need Jon (and if others agree) I can take over day to day running of the team. I think it is pretty clear what is going on with my team this year so it isn't like I have incentive to submarine the lines to help me in the standings. I don't mean making trades just setting lines and making sure they are roster/salary compliant until we get a full time GM in place.

Definitely not in favour of a re-boot, after all the work I've put in over the past four or five years, so I hope we can come up with another solution. What about contraction with a dispersal draft. A 20 team league with 20 dedicated GMs would be fun and ultra competitive. Just an idea.

I'll remain neutral on this one, not enough experience to say one way or the other

I'll go along with whatever we decide but I agree with Joe. I think contraction may be the way to go. Kind of the best of both worlds.

Who's gonna decide who goes if we contract, and who stays. I rather have more gm's then less. Let's expand and have an expansion draft, that will increase trading and activity.

First off, about time. Rob, you've always seemed like a good guy but this isn't for you.
Here's an idea, let's cut Hunter some slack and give him Pitt instead of that sad Detroit roster. And then fold Detroit (sacrilegious I know) and one other team... We have cut it down to 24, and a dispersion draft for 2 rosters.

I'd prefer not to reboot. Expansion would be interesting, but would have to have couple of solid GMs firmly in place...difficult to gauge. *** Looking forward to the next sim update when I can hopefully submit lines with Mac laptop - it's all we have at home. Work computers won't allow me to download programs. And my wife would put me in the doghouse even if I bought a cheap PC (My name is Chris and I have a gadget problem...lol). *** Agree with the contraction talks above...
