Honestly, getting pretty fed up with the lack of responses to PMs from certain GMs. Two of them are not even offers, just conversation starters.
Seems to me there's literally 6-7 teams that make trades in our league, the rest are placeholders. And then we wonder why things get stale, how many times can I talk trade with the same teams over and over. There's at least 10 rosters that are dormant, some of which don't even have the decency to respond to a message for weeks. Maybe a restart with new blood isn't such a bad idea after all Jon. /rant

I could not agree more! Need more involvement/ Heck I cut down my trading during season the last two seasons as trying to only make trades needed to help me after years of trading constantly. I love talking trades, it one of the best part of this for me plus I get to know the guys here and becomes friends with all the long timers pretty much.
Common guys get your asses in gear, try to make teams better, not everyone can get the number 1 or 2 next season!

Some teams trade, some teams stock up and want to roll with what they have, make a few minor tweaks here and there. I've had periods where I've traded like crazy, and periods where I've stood pat. It's cyclical. Until an 8 can bounce a 1, or even a 4 bounce a 2 with some regularity, just making the playoffs isn't enough if you want to win the league. It makes zero sense tweaking to squeak in. To me anyway.

I'm closer to Darren here. If a team doesn't want to trade and likes their players I don't see anything wrong with that. If you're a great drafter, have an eye for unassigned and good with the cap you can be great without trading. I don't think anyone is under an obligation to make or even explore deals.
What I don't think is right is people who don't respond to PMs, even if just to say not interested, or people that don't contribute via the boards. Sending in lines and drafting is all well and good, but at our heart we are a community, so even if you don't want to trade, you should make the effort to take part and make a contribution.

I was hoping we were gonna crank up injuries some, lodgics tell me that would generate more activity and could even make for a more level playing field, thought we discussed this last season. What do you guys think about cranking up injuries to mimic the NHL more.

I can understand if a team doesn't want to trade. I think I am pretty much in a bit of a holding mode right now as I have moved most of my older guys and don't see a lot of like for like deals with my young players.
But there is a difference between not trading and not responding. I haven't run into this issue before (and hope I am not guilty of it) so I will mainly let others who are dealing with it comment but if that is the case I have no issue with booting a GM. Even if the response is "not interested" at least it lets the other GM know and shows you are somewhat involved in the league.
I guess maybe GM's can send a note to Jon about guys who are doing this so he can start to see if there is a pattern and take action to the next and/or make sure there isn't some sort of misunderstanding.

I brought up the issue of using Morale this season which would contribute to those scenarios, the regular 5-8 people responded then there really wasn't much further discussion about it

I'm one of the guys that's against injuries and morale. I don't think randomness is an issue IMO.

I am usually up to make trades, but this season, I decided to try something different, since my team is doing well... So I don't want to mess things up just yet...

I don't think there's a lot wrong with the league as is. Would I like a few guys to be a little more engaged and active? Of course, but I don't think a re-boot is going to fix that problem. From my experience, activity level has nothing to do with how close you are to winning a championship, or how competitive your team is.
I was a lot more active, trade-wise at least, when I was at the bottom of the standings. And I probably changed my lineup just as much when I was 24th in the league standings as I did when I was first.

I have been getting responses from pretty much everyone lately.
How is finding a GM for the Pens coming?

I thought we were going to use morale this year, I wasn't super keen on it, but I wanted a large sample size to see how it would influence games first.
