Now we likely will see Boston get some major injuries and Carolina fluke their way to another win due to nothing they did at all. Good, hopefully it starts with a broken nose for Marchand. I still fundamentally disagree with you re: luck. Sure lucky bounces happen here and there and play in a team's favor (see Sharks Vegas wrongfully called major), but to say it's been 100% luck for the Canes to get to the conference finals is pretty much absurd. I've personally seen them score goals that only happened as a result of hard work, determination, and skill. You can only get so far on luck my friend.

Yeah, that crap roster....with an 80 point man, 76 point man, and 53 point man...with a 2nd overall draft pick making great progress and a great goalie tandem and Jaccob Slavin having a break out defensive year...yeah, total crap...
You're entitled to your opinion, but you look pretty silly to me.
"Man, those 92 Red Wings totally sucked, they won the cup purely on luck alone!" - holds about as much water as your statements on Carolina...

It is the same crap roster that barely made the play-offs and needed a collapse by Holtby and fluke OT goal to make it out of the 1st round. I know it is a results based league so people will ignore what happened to get here but Carolina has not been playing good hockey at all and are unlikely to replicate this going forward because they are not winning on ability but circumstances. Its nice that Aho had a career year but watching him play it is doubtful he gets close to that number again and certainly you can;t expect a guy like Tervainen to even come close to his numbers. I am also not sure how a 92 Red Wings team that's nucleus won multiple Cups and had multiple HOFers compares to this Hurricanes team that has its nucleus finishing 2nd last in the league last year, "winning" the 2nd WC this year and having 0 guys that even look close to being a HOFer.

I do have to change my luck stance its 90% luck and 10% lucky match-up with NYI.

ANY team that makes the playoffs is obviously pretty good, you do realize there are 31 teams right? Not 16? I don't understand your logic at all. Please define "good hockey" for me, because they won enough games to make the playoffs with at least 2 players having fantastic years, so if that isn't "good hockey", please tell me what is. Your assessment is opinion, not fact, they are clearly winning on ability or they wouldn't still be here. No team, NO TEAM, gets to the ECF purely on luck, its ridiculous to claim otherwise. I think they'll easily continue to match those numbers, I have watched them play, they are fantastic players, I don't understand why you think they are so bad, it doesn't make sense. Dude gets 80+ points and you think he just lucked out...I simply don't get it. Colorado was crappy a year or two ago as well, teams improve from season to season and just because a team was at the bottom one year doesn't mean they can't improve with those same players and be better, which is what the Hurricanes clearly did. So yeah, I really want that definition of "good hockey" since apparently scoring 80 points and making the playoffs doesn't count....is it coming in first place and tying a NHL points record and failing in the first round? Is THAT "good hockey"?

One lucky bounce does not overcome a seven game series. Any team that is still alive right now has worked very hard to even get that "lucky" bounce. I believe football and the 1 game playoff is far more susceptible to luck/officiating determining the winner than hockey. I also think the Canes have a far better team than you give credit for. No superstars but great depth and a very inspiring coach. Toronto and Tampa as well as Calgary had all those "superstars" but your only as good as your weakest players.

I'll add that Canes have Justin Williams, who's scored a couple clutch goals this playoffs. Go and ask him if the reason they call him Mr game 7 is purely due to luck lol. Sure he might not be a superstar, but there's a pretty good reason he's 8-1 in game 7s and has 3 cups to his name, and it ain't luck.

News Flash Third best record since Jan 10th I think in NHL. That is all the Canes did!
* The Blues sat in last place in the Western Conference on New Year’s Day (tied for the fewest points in the NHL) but have the League’s best record in 2019 (17-5-1, 35 points).
* The Hurricanes were tied for the fourth-fewest points in the NHL 53 days ago but are tied with the League-leading Lightning for the second-most wins since Jan. 1 behind the Blues (17).
* The Islanders have vaulted from outside the playoff picture on Jan. 1 into the top spot in the Metropolitan Division, a position they have held since earning their 28th win on Jan. 18.
Canes may not match up well with Bruins but they will not disappear and as far as bad bounces, I see them in every series along with calls that change games.
Every team that made it this far, did by skating and playing hard, not taking plays off. I will give you bad bounce but look bad at every cup winner and you will see a game or two they had bounces go their way to win.

Justin Williams is a perfect example of what I am talking about dig crap player with a couple of lucky bounces and now he is called sone stupid nickname. Of course if you ask him he will say no nobody wants to admit to being crap.

Ok now I'm officially convinced you're a troll. This is like classic trolling techniques. Why would I troll the online hockey that I have been a part of for 10+ years? I don't get why people can't have different opinions without it having to be trolling. Anyways good to see the Avs luck run out, or more likely see how they have nothing with MacKinnon out. Now we can get the Canes out and see some actual mediocre hockey.

Yet both teams are home, having one line or a great player or 2 lines of players if as a team you will not sacrifice and go hard everytime you step on ice. But differently give you credit in your beliefs and you can say what you believe. Plus you got board to wake up and bring a great debate to the board, for that thank you! As for Canes, you make not light it up with talent although that young team is ahead with where they can go. they play the game in image of coach who whenever he stepped on ice, you knew Brindy would give it all on every shift and he has getting these kids to believe and go hard and not skate around ice like super stars you so mention who are worried about next big contract and not as much about team and the things it takes to win. But do appreciate you waking up the board pal!

I don't get why people can't have different opinions without it having to be trolling. Well mainly because according to you Cedric Paquette, Danick Martel, Ryan Lomberg, and Alan Quine are better than Sebastian Aho and Teuvo Teravainen lol. Like cmon.. I tend to hyperbolize too, but that's just ridiculous. What's next, you're going to tell me Tomas Hertl is a peewee beer league plug who's only killing it because he has a secret leprechaun that feeds him lucky charms for his pre game meals? Let me guess, you'd ship him for Andrew Mangiapane?

If the opponent isn't good for all 60 minutes, and there is one or two minutes where they mess up and a team like the Canes take advantage, surely that deserves some gratitude? I see what you're saying big picture, but that's what makes hockey so different than the NBA - any team has a chance to win on any given day. You don't just go into the season knowing the Golden State Warriors are going to win it all. Also, to add my 2 cents to the race, San Jose up and down has the best roster left remaining, and I wouldn't mind watching them win the Stanley Cup.
